Fashionista
I feel like, alongside Aerosmith they were perhaps America's best rock band. Morrison Hotel is probably one of the best hard rock records of the 70s IMO. I think their legacy is sadly sullied because of the Morrison movie, even though he was nothing like how the movie portrays in real life. The "Lizard King" mythology has sadly overshadowed some really classic music. But I'm curious about your opinions..
DieselDaisy
Almost certainly America's best band of the 1960s and remarkably original. All six albums are consistent - even Soft Parade, arguably their only dud, is decent. I think my favourite is Strange Days, but I have enjoyed all their albums - they good blusier and more direct later on.
J Dog
Great band. Morrison was a top notch frontman. All their albums are good, I still like their debut the best. I'm a big fan of LA Woman too which sometimes gets left out. I'm still blown away sometimes at how much they got out of their sound considering they were a three piece band. I know they used a session bassist on a lot of stuff, but for just a guitar, a keyboard, and drums, they really made the most of it.
Jabberwocky
They were one of the few bands from the 60's who were completely original. They took jazz, blues, psychedelia, spoken word, experimental leanings and threw it in a blender and hit the puree button. Love them.

Gordon Comstock
I've heard their radio hits and I don't care for them. What's their best 2 or 3 songs?
Ace Nova
Great band, one of the greatest ever. Easily in my top 10 favorite bands of all time...probably top 5, actually.

Or at least the most 'well known/common' songs. Don't get the fuss. I'll look up the titles I don't recognize tho (Five to One, When The Music's Over). edit: yea, I've heard those before too, they're not 'bad' but they're not for me... action
I think "been down so long" and "roadhouse blues" are their best two songs. Don't care much for the mandatory 10+ minute jazz adventures
soon
I think that I have all their LPs except for Soft Parade. Amazing musicianship and song craft! To me they capture the psychedelic vibe really well. Maybe too well as sometimes the music makes me feel anxious and I dont listen to it much as a result. Morrison self-mythologized like a champion. But even when he broke the fourth wall it was a glimpse into a reality that, for the rest of us, was still mythological.

Honestly, Morrison is my least favourite part of the band, I can't get into his style for the most part. I guess they're not for me..
