dontdamnmeuyi2015
Bill Cosby has been found guilty of sexual assault for 3 counts. He can serve 10 to 30 years in jail. I'm so happy justice has been served for these women. I hope he feels some kind of remorse about it, but from the look of him, I doubt it. He seems just as arrogant as always. I hope that he does serve some time in jail and not in some easy prison either. He needs to realize what he did to these women and how wrong it was. Anyway, it was a good day for his victims.
classicrawker
JMO but Cosby feel no remorse about what he did as he is an arrogant SOB....the man is 80 yrs old and if I was a betting man he will never serve a day in a real jail as the judge is letting him do house arrest with a GPS bracelet........it is sad how the rich get off easy with crimes in this country due to their wealth........... classicrawker
Just to clarify what I posted earlier...........He is out on bail and his sentencing hearing has not been scheduled yet so he could still end up in prison but I will believe it when I see it........... I suppose with Cosby he’s a more sort of respected figure prior to the accusations, Spector was always a bit of a fruitloop outsider type nutter with a history of mental tales behind him so its easier for him to get the chop. action
way back when I was a kid, his stupid "cosby show" was airing and even then I couldn't help but think what a douche he was. Sure was an unpopular opinion back then, but I always thought something was "off" with him he was like too perfect and smooth. the caring house dad. I'm telling you: perfect people are the biggest nutters around. They're not mr perfect, but rather mr pervert. I'm rather in the company of people with an obvious screw lose who arent afraid to show their imperfections. Have a cold beer, crack an inapproriate joke and appreciate a beatiful woman. Or whatever they fancy, but don't pretend you're this a-sexual mr perfect. it makes me uneasy. Edited April 27, 2018 by action

I've never come across a comedian, with the possible exception of Adam Sandler, who is as unfunny as Jim Carey. Its the most lightweight, corny, insubstantial comedy ever. I mean The Mask, sweet fuckin' Christ on a crutch, even when I was 9 that was shite. Dumb and Dumber, ugh. I would rather watch my loved ones die in a house fire than sit through even 5 minutes of Jim Carrey, he is that insufferable. I hope I've made my point here Edited April 27, 2018 by Len Cnut

I hope I've made my point here you have the right to an opinion of crouse, even if it is manifestly wrong as this one. the mask was a masterpiece of situational humour. the death scene in the casino is like a suite of brilliant sketches, it's almost like the second side of abbey road, but in comedy form. pet detective is another favorite. silly? yes, highly. but that's kind of like, my thing. I'm not a very sophisticated person tbh. the third police academy movie, another classic. hysterically fun they are. at least when I was a kid. nowadays I guess i'l need to pop a few beers before I'm in the same place as back in the day. classical music, classic movies, literary works.... it's all such a drag. A silly movie with dumb humour can evoke so much more emotion from me. Edited April 27, 2018 by action

EvanG
I wouldn't call Carrey the unfunniest person in the world, but he's an average comedian, though, like Robin Williams was. What sets them apart is that they are great actors. Dumb and Dumber is a classic by the way, I don't care how silly it is. Dumb and Dumber is a classic by the way, I don't care how silly it is. as a kid I saw all these bad reviews of movies like policie academy and other hugely funny movies, and I didnt know what all that was about. I was utterly laughing my ass off with these movies. Yeah, they won't win oscars for best movies in the vein of shindler's list, but give me a good silly movie any time over meandering movies like that one. I just lack the patience to sit these out. but man, even in the silly department there sure is a lot of dross to wade through. a former girlfriend once took me to see "little man" and it was just fucking cringe front to back. So I'm not sure what makes me like police academy more than this movie. I think humour is a very, very personal thing. When my wife laughs with something on television, I usually get a glassy stare, but when I laugh with things she's just rolling her eyes. Len Cnut
I don't mean to be cruel but I can muster more sympathy towards Hitler taking a gun to his head in his bunker as the Russians approached than I can at the thought of Jim Carreys having the flesh torn from his bones by the teeth of a pack of starving wolves, his having just been raped by an NFL team...on steroids...with AIDS. Such is my disdain for Jim Carey. Edited April 27, 2018 by Len Cnut

I personally never cared for those Police Academy movies, but with Dumb and Dumber, or other silly movies like that, it's just for a laugh and you definitely shouldn't take it seriously. There are so many little jokes in Dumb and Dumber and combined with the great acting skills of Carrey and Daniels it makes it a fun movie and that's all there's to it. Like this scene, there are maybe a lot of cliché and mediocre jokes, but because there are so many in a row and because of Carrey's face expressions it makes it memorable. And this goes on throughout the whole movie.
AtariLegend
I like Jim Carey, but he has made some terrible films. His best work imo were things like, Eternal Sunshine, Me, Myself and Irene, The Trueman Show, Man on the Moon or The Cable Guy. Not the films were he plays mentally retarded or over the top characters like in Dumb and Dumber or The Mask, Grinch, Batman Forever or Ace Ventura ect.
