ZoSoRose
With how crazy this season has been I wouldn't be surprised if we got some Luke action in the finale. I almost anticipate it Edited December 4, 2020 by ZoSoRose

I never followed much outside of the movies in the new cannon, so characters like Bo Katan and Ahsoka are relative mysteries to me.

Just because they are alluding to a Jedi showing up. The only one that would have a massive "wow" factor would be Luke. I could see a brief appearance in the finale, but The Child then deciding to stay with the Mando so it would also be a good reason for Luke not to stick around. soon
Also, are there any other canon Jedi? Ahsoka has stated her withdrawal. Maybe Leia was trained by this point, I cant recall from TROS? I think the theory that Mace Windu shows up it also promising. I mean, unless you think that falling 1000s of feet to the ground after being electrocuted = death in Star Wars. For instance its Anakin and Palps who killed Mace and they both came back from death. Palps after a great fall on electrocution. The reason I like this theory is that Boba would want to avenge his fathers death. Mace killed his father, Jango. And we know that Boba has been following Mando for a while. Perhaps he had knowledge that it was likely Baby Yoda would be taken to the Seeing Stone? And hes banking on Mace's arrival? Or even if its presented as happenstance, its a compelling bit of story. DieselDaisy
I relented. Extremely good (the only bit I didn't like were the digital Iron Men). I thought I was going to hate Boba Fett's return also, but they managed it somehow. I had to remind myself who the woman was by reading a synopsis of the season one episode. The show seems to be able to set-forth fantastically demonstrative fan service yet still make it seamless and retain the fundamentals. Hopefully Maul doesn't turn up considering he was chopped in half by Oscar Schindler ho ho ho.
rocknroll41
Didn’t like the directing style of this episode. Apparently James Mangold was originally supposed to direct this one, but had to drop out at the last minute to focus on writing for Indiana Jones 5 (lol!). So Robert Rodriguez replaced him at the last minute, and it shows. Directing felt very haphazard. Writing was good tho! Still looking forward to the next episode. Maul was killed by Obi Wan in 2 BBY. Obi Wan had previously sliced Maul in half in 32 BBY during the Invasion of Naboo in the Phantom Menace. There are amazing stories about those 30 years. And the way he and Ahsoka have parallels is really neat imho. Also, the darkness and anguish of the dark side is really explored in Maul. Qui-Gon, played by Neison who portrayed Schindler, did not do the bisecting. He was in the fight though - and lost his life. So Maul wont appear in the Mandalorian which started in 9 ABY! Woo-hoo! Unless Im mistaken we could see Yaddle though. 15 hours ago, rocknroll41 said: Didn’t like the directing style of this episode. I thought that boulder scene was very Indiana Jones like. I wonder if that was in there as a nod for Mangold? Like previously in the script when he was still on the episode? As to your larger observation - ignorance is bliss for me I suppose! Not knowing film craft with any depth, I was pleased with it. 1

action
I just saw the first (new) star wars movie (I think, the first of the new trilogy, but who's to say? can't be bothered to look it up in the TV guide) with my son, because he wanted to see it what an utterly depressing, stupid movie. everything looks sterile and bleak, bloodless and meaningless. Much like the current state of our society. devoid of any soul, and full of insanity. what a load of drivel. I need a shot of 80s action movies to cure the dread this movie leaves me with. something like this, to make me feel alive again: it even has a badass sountrack as an accompaniment Edited December 5, 2020 by action

soon
Okay - stop the presses! I just realized that Boba has been tracking Mando long before Mando had his armor. So now I have no idea why hes been tracking him?

I guess I had it in my mind that he wanted the armour - I had that timeline off. He only got Bobas armour at the start of this season. It seems like Boba has presented himself to Mando of having tracked him down for the armour? Or maybe I am projecting that? So whats his interest in Mando? Hes now implicated himself into Mandos inner circle! And also what fortuitous luck for Bobas armour to show up in the hands of someone he was already tracking for some other reason?! I only knew about that as I had forgotten who the female assassin was and had to wikipedia the old episode to remind myself of the synopsis. Im honoured that you consider me a Star Wars nerd, but alas I have so much to learn. I actually forgot about Fennec at first too. Apparently shes a famous action and voice actor. Looking forward to seeing her and Boba kick lots of ass. And really, youd think both of us would have remembered a women like her! haha Novels and audio books is my main Star Wars. The books Im selecting are from the same time as Mando, because Im all in on Mando (Thats early ABY ). But for the most part when my mind craves star wars (like 10 times a day!) I'll go for an audiobook or novel. And much of it is fairly niche and ultimately frivilous by comparison to the main stories of Star Wars. Some audio books I couldnt even recap to you - I just enjoy in the moment. I havent even watched all the commentaries for Mando season 1 yet. I mean, I do know there is a continuity issue with the model # of one of their battle ships in Shadow Fall, book 2 of Alphabet Squadron trilogy, tho. But I hope to become a much better Star Wars nerd!

I had one of Jabba's bodyguards, green piglike things.
