dave94
I’m by no means a music critic or anything, but on the other demos of Atlas there is a chord progression or something when he sings “what it takes to be a man” which was my favourite part of the song but it’s slightly killed off in the latest mix, overall though it sounds better with the added guitar parts. On perhaps i can’t quite work out why or what the difference is but I prefer the version I had before And this is the version of The Blues I always wanted, those (robin finck?) guitar parts are so clear Edited September 24, 2019 by dave94

At 1:34, 'now’ was removed from the third ‘You’re all alone’ line. The new Perhaps appears to be complete. These sound like they need mastered and thats about it! Just so we're all clear (I'm sure someone answered this before) - this is actually the second attempt at the album. Sean Beavan / Youth did the original version of the album with Josh Freese (which also has leaked out there and sounds very raw, very different). This is the result of the Roy Thomas Baker sessions where they effectivly re-recorded the whole album I believe. But this is close to the album that they were looking at releasing in 2001 with that tour that got binned. However is there no Bucket on this disc at all? Im pretty sure that these are the Beavian Mixes. Roy Tomas Baker came in 2001 When Brain startes rerecording drums. Correct me if im wrong
Axl_morris
Link is down on the known site so I'm not sure if anyone is able to discuss this further as it's not available. Unless I am proved wrong.
YOUCOULDBEMINE.
Is it worth checking out? As usual I'm late to the party which makes it harder to find. But if it's worth it I'll search for it
Voodoochild
Why are you guys saying Bucket is not on this "album"? You can clearly hear him in Madagascar (not only the solo, but the basic wah rhythm througout the whole song) and Riad (the solo is half Robin, half Bucket). I also believe he plays a small part in Prostitute: the killswitch-ish sound in the rhythm guitar during the parts were later he added the solos. I thought he hadn't joined then, but I was mistaken. He was in since march 2000. I thought late 2000. So yes, some Buckethead.
YOUCOULDBEMINE.
And most of all, does Madagascar sound like the short snippet they used in a promo for a show in (I believe) 2002? That always sounded interesting to me and I'd love to hear the full thing. And I don't really get the love for Perhaps. Those vocals sounded frail and weak to me, and after 2 listens I kinda gave up on it.
F*ck Fear
I thought that was Robin on Riad. Didn't sound like Bucket. Either way, I've listened to this disc twice now and I believe that 'There Was A Time' & Prostitute are the only two songs on the final record that appear (to me) to have benefited from years of production. Everything else sounds far better on this disc. I though I was in love with Atlas Shrugged before, Holy Fuck, this version kills!

Also there was the outro solo in The Blues played by Richard (later replaced by Bucket).

Axl_morris
What's on the other discs? I'm not interested in different drums levels. Only higher quality of already unreleased leaked songs or new stuff. Not interested in instrumentals

So not much if youre not interested in instrumentals.
