Popular Post Original
Have they played it once on the NITL Tour? It’s my favorite off of CD and probably top 10 GnR song all time. Maybe it’s just me but I think Slash would dominate it and would love to hear it live with this band (saw it a few times live with Axl’s other tours). 4
ElectricTear
It's not played yet but I think it would be pretty hard for Axl. On the other hand, I think it's one of the songs which sounds okay with Mickey. If I could choose I'd like to hear I.R.S which is also yet to be played. F*ck Fear
I want to hear Slash play 'The Blues'. I fear Axl wouldn't do it justice, though.
GNR 1991
The Blues, Shacklers, IRS, Scraped, Riad and If the World have yet to be played on the NITL tour. Would love to see the first three of those attempted.
StrangerInThisTown
Axl refuses to play it because it's about Slash obviously!
djones1225
I'm honestly surprised they haven't played SOD or I.R.S. they seem more "Slash like" compared to Prostitute or Madagascar.
Arnuld
Would love to hear the blues live again. It’s been quite awhile
Stiff Competition
I loved seeing it at the ‘06 shows but yeah, Axl would sound terrible on it now.

See Axl/DC. I don't know, he struggles with the Chinese stuff over the last year. I'm beginning to see some cracks in his higher register. A few years ago he could sing the mid section of better every night, now he struggles and or alters the melody to get through it. I think he'd get through SOD, but it would be tough. I'd like to hear it again, especially instead of catcher.

I saw it in 06 as well and it was great, also decent in 2010. Never liked them album version so haven't listened to that for years but the recent leaks of it have re-woken my interest for the song. Will always be The Blues to me though

I went with the CD title of it I guess.
dave94
The recent leaked version of The Blues has absolutely ruined the album version called Street of Dreams for me, I can barely listen to it anymore. I think the song is rumoured to be about Slash which might be the reason

Jordan Rose
After bullishly insisting that Sorry was in large part about Slash and old band I now agree with @russtcb that SoD is about Slash hence never even on NITL setlist. Blues sounds like it's about a woman but read the lyrics, don't have to be romantic, could easily be about Slash. Especially the last verse. And the 'shut up and sing' part of Sorry I always thought referenced the story of Duff or Slash in the studio telling Ax to shut up and sing but fans also shouted that during Illusion rants.

I thought Sorry was about the media and critics in general i can’t say I’ve listened to that song enough times to really analyse though. It’s pretty mediocre throughout and those bizarre vocals “but I don’t want to do it” just make me want to press Next 1
megaguns1982
It will magically appear on the set list as an alternate now to troll us.... hi dexter Edited October 5, 2019 by megaguns1982 1

default_
I still believe this ones about Slash. "What I tought was beautiful don live inside of you anymore" Didnt Axl say that Slash original soul was gone when he od'd or something like that? Lies They Tell
"the feelings that I felt I saved for you and no one else" Personally I don't see what heterosexual man would write this about a man, but maybe that's just me. Fact is that they hadn't played SOD in along time with the past line up either. The setlist is already a bit too ballad heavy if you ask me, so no need to bring SOD back. If they necessarily want to play a certain amount of covers, I wish they'd replace Wichita Lineman with Down On The Farm. Axl would probably still sound great on it, cause he can use his natural voice there. The setlist could use some more punk rock.
Tom-Ass
Out of all the songs on CD, "The Blues" is the only one I would care to see them play live. Edited October 6, 2019 by Tom-Ass
