2020_Intensions
Man a "The Dirt" style GnR biopic would be the coolest music movie ever ... It's unfortunate something like that will never be created ...

If they were to write a book dirt style the 94 to 96 period is what i want to read the most. Also the recording of the illusions albums would be great.

jamillos
The main focus would be "live era" (87-93), then the new chapter would be the following years up to the CD release; then there would be some "meh" years, plus the final chapter, "a new hope", for 2016.

However Slash is on record as opposing the idea (because this band seems to literally hate good publicity). Whatever happened to that planned biopic for GNR announced years ago? Include RIR 2011 with the raincoat and bridge school for more comedy value.
Popular Post 2020_Intensions
The reason why GnR will never agree to a movie about them is their story is too wild and the behind-the-scenes personal problems that culminated in them breaking up is too personal to dramatize imo ....

How do you know the record isn't finished? Ozzy released his album before the pandemic, ACDC haven't released shit yet, and Taylor Swift? Lol. Why are you so anxious? They will release music when they want to, are you holding your breath? No one from Guns N' Roses have ever said that a "new album is imminent". Quite impossible and unreasonable to live up to made up promises, don't you think? 1) Your handle, Johnny Utah, is a reference to an undercover cop in the film Point Break. 2) You are grumpily defending the status quo of the shit show that is Guns. Therefor I conclude that you are a TB undercover poster 5

Twinaleblood
2021: release Hardschool and whatever else they have been working on (if they have been working on, you might say. I want to believe), call it 'Use Your Illusion III' and tie it in with the reissues/anniversary. The record would be successfull, the reissues would be successful (unless you sell boxsets for $1000), the tour would be successful.

I'd pay $1000 for a super deluxe Chinese Democracy release. 3+ CDs worth of material, including the remix CD, CD2 and CD3 songs, both complete and incomplete, I'd eat it all up for $1,000 easy. A little red hand or grenade flash drive full of tracks. 2

My view is that they’d sell thousands of such a box set. They could fashion a Chinese takeaway type box for this, it would be a hard core fans dream. It’s just so damn frustrating. WHY THE FUCK IS EVERYTHING SO DIFFICULT WITH THIS BAND?????!
axlvai
A chinese boxset.... is a horrible business. Theres not enough ppl who would buy it. Ppl want to hear Scom.... cmon.
jamillos
Now that the old band is more or less together again, which they've shown to the entire world through thorough touring, the last thing they should do is releasing anything associated with the CD era. CD boxset could/should have been out around 2013/14, but now it's not the time. People - me among them - want new music with Slash, obviously. Sure, I'd love to hear CD II or whatever some day, but logically, this would be a stupid move in the present era. 1
