rocknroll41 Posted November 8 Posted November 8 (edited) Apparently there’s gonna be an Episode 10-12 trilogy with Daisy Ridley, made by Simon Kinberg, in addition to the already-announced movie from Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, and the “old lady rey” movie from Shawn Levy. So now the upcoming post-TRoS slate goes like this: Sharmeen movie (unofficially Episode 9.5) Kinberg trilogy (officially Episodes 10-12) Shawn Levy movie (old lady rey) Thats assuming any of this shit actually happens, though. Disney has an earnings call soon, and a convention in Brazil next week, so maybe we’ll hear more at one or both of those things. In the meantime, the Baby Yoda movie is the only one that’s actually been filmed. All other announced films (including Lando, the Taika Waititi thing, Rogue Squadron, Jedi Prime, and Filoni’s movie) are all still in development hell. Edited November 13 by rocknroll41 1 Quote
Jw224 Posted November 8 Posted November 8 Not particularly excited about anything they are going to do going forward. I expect them to take no risks and it be quite bland because that is what Star Wars fans have shown them they want. 2 Quote

rocknroll41 Posted November 9 Posted November 9 Now insiders are saying that Sharmeen’s movie (the one I was calling Episode 9.5) isn’t happening anymore, and that both Kathy Kennedy and Bob Iger will be retiring within the next year. Quote

Replace 'Rey' with 'Star Wars' and you have Disney's entire philosophy since acquiring it. 1 1 1 Quote

Jw224 Posted November 15 Posted November 15 I'd say all they'd need to do it create a new story but Star Wars fans would probably review bomb it online two years before the first episode comes out. 1 Quote
rocknroll41 Posted November 15 Posted November 15 (edited) Rumor has it that Lawrence Kasdan (the main writer of Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Force Awakens, and Solo) is the new writer of Episode 9.5. EDIT: Episode 9.5 (as I’m not calling it) is no longer coming out Xmas 2026. They’re saying maybe May or Xmas 2027 now. Edited November 16 by rocknroll41 Quote
