default_ 1,649
So I heard it was an all new show with a completely new setlist! At least the wig was new!
Amaya 230
I am a realists. I apogize for repeating myself. To those who think this thread is toxic, I am sorry. To those fans here who want new music, setlists, etc. , I am sorry. My opinion. Last night's show was huge. GnR back in the game. 568 million from their tour with just the 3 of them because GnR is only 3 people legally. SuperBowl concert. They are touring alone meanwhile DL,MC and others are all together on a bill callung it the Stadium Tour. Sbout this concert.... All the rich and famous and media and business- corporate movers and shakers were there. Then the next part of the audience were Superbowl fans there for SuperBowl weekend. Next strata, causual fans and GnR fans. Lastly, the diehard fans. I really thought Axl would have looked better. He looks 80. No reason with his money to look like he has no get up and go. Gross. No he cannot like 27 years old. I dont look like I did in 1989 at 24 years old either. I have no comment on sound because I did not hear anything. He cannot sound like he did in 1991. He should sound his best with his resources and have 2 Black female background singers, one each singing style. New music. No wants wants to hear that shyt. No one would know those songs. The majority of their audiences and especially at a show like last right wants to hear the GnR hits. I thinkThe Big3 messed up there. No Nov. Rain? These 3 guys have real lives and separate lives so getting together to exchange ideas and record , rehearse, writing for days for music no one wants, makes no sense because no one will hear because there is no radio market that cannot be played in concert because the audience wont know those songs and most importantly that no one will buy makes no sense. A waste of time. There are a nostaglia band and got 568 million over a 4 year tour by doing. AND there AIN'T NOTHIN WRONG WITH DAT

Take a step back and actually listen to what is being said. I'm providing feedback from an objective viewpoint. I have no agenda. Just like GNR can improve on things so can you and Downzy as well in regards to this board. That's all. "I don't have time" = I have no argument. Your insults toward the board are just plain unfounded, which has been explained at least twice this morning. If you want to post somewhere else, post somewhere else. More power to you. What you're not going to be allowed to do is come here, insult the board, say things that aren't true about myself and other staff members then act like it's all just fact because you're unable to make an argument for the things you're making up. 2

Dean 2,287
This is why I love coming on here - the differing opinions and the reasoning behind people’s views. I was very deflated about my itinerary for this summer off the back of this performance, but it is what it is. Reading some of the posts here have turned that around, enjoy them while we still can - however there is a lot left in the tank and Axl is doing himself a grave injustice the longer he waits to release music.

Go back and look at the old setlist from the uyi tour. It was not cookie cutter every night. I will give you that they switched up the opening song but they still basically played the same songs every night. Different order or not...

I know Americans aren't known for their class, and this is GNR, not the opera, but still.... Maybe it's the cynical Brit in me. With all due respect, coming from a guy who travels to the UK often for work and has many friends there, why do people like you feel the need to attack/trash/insult an entire country? Yet, here you are, on a forum for a band from the USA (a rather drab band at this point, mind you), insulting all Americans. I can confidently say you don't speak for all Brits, as the ones I know have a lot more common sense to not blindly throw insults like this around. But I digress. I, too, find these tributes to Kobe quite tacky. All low-flying aircraft that day were grounded in LA due to the weather. Someone made a foolish and selfish decision to fly... probably Kobe himself... and it cost him and 8 others their lives. It's a tragedy, but tragedy's happen every day to common people all over the world, including 'classless' Americans, as you've so dubbed all of us. They're all a shame, but tributes to the uber-privileged are just so tiresome. We can agree there. That aside, did you ever consider that Axl lives in LA and is a HUGE Lakers fan? As is others in the band? Kobe was known to be quite the stubborn arse, just like Axl, so they, I'm sure, connected on that level in a way we couldn't possibly understand. If I could offer a bit of advice, if they want to pay a tribute to somebody they admired, whether you or I think it's tacky or not, let them do it and try not attack an entire populus of people from another country... on a forum for a band from that country. Does anybody on here ever attack Brits for their obsession with a defunct monarchy? Can I insult you because all that's all over the papers and news channels in your country is all about Harry and Meghan? Two people that have absolutely no bearing on any of our lives. Is it tacky when your country pays tribute to Princess Dianna at every turn, to this day? Can we Americans call all Brits lifeless fools for the constant obsession over the royal family... the most uber-privileged group of people in the world that your hard earned money supports via taxation? Will you be upset when Elizabeth kicks the bucket? Will you be okay with the 'tacky' tributes to her when the time comes? This is my first post ever on this forum, and probably the last (I like GNR and like to see photos and videos from their concerts... this forum seems to be a good place to find that stuff), but I just had to chime in when I read this comment. It's incredibly insulting coming from someone in a country where it's people do the same types of things, and practically adore anything American. A quick look at the 20 most popular websites visited by people in Britan in 2019 based on user traffic (https://www.lexiconnect.co.uk/top-20-uk-websites.html) finds that just about all of them have their home or origins in America (Google, Youtube, Facebook, etc.). #16 on that list? Pornhub. That's classy. American too! So, what's really tacky here is someone from across the pond who feels the need to attack/insult an entire nation because he doesn't like some tribute to some American sports hero at some American band's concert, in America, on a forum for said American rock band. As if his people never put their celebrities up on a pedestal as if they're some kind of Queen or King or Prince or something. How silly would that be in the 21st century? Pot, meet kettle.

jacdaniel 610
It really sucks to add to the negativity on the forum. I love GNR and the reunion has been wonderful overall for me. I enjoyed the 2 shows I attended and look forward to the third this summer. What’s frustrating at times is that it could easily be so much better. We can all accept the fact that new music can take time, but give us an update on how it’s going once in awhile without trying to string together a vague non informative response. Put out a live DVD or album. Change up the set completely once in awhile. The band are not stupid. They’re advertising new shows as “all new” because they know themselves the set has gone completely stale. Even casuals are on social media asking for new stuff. Eventually they’re gonna be hit were it hurts the most - ticket sales. I don’t know any band in the history of music that played the same show for 4 years. There is footage of Axl back in 91 talking about changing the set and not constantly playing the same show twice. There is also footage of him saying he wanted to bury appetite. Where is the hunger gone? 1

No, it's called having a laugh. @jonbradley As for the royals, I think you'll find most Americans are far more interested in that bunch of benefit-scrounging inbreds than your average Brit. It's not as if we all sit around the dinnertable of an evening and discuss Harry and Meghan or how much we miss Princess Diana. Joke about the royals all you like, I don't care. Brits have a knack of being quite self-deprecating, it's not my fault @jonbradley seems incapable of laughing at himself. Take it on the chin (or chins if you're American!). nycgunner 285
This thread is a downer. Sounds like nothing changed from the fall, minus You’re Crazy. Did Axl interact with the crowd at all? He was all smiles on stage in SLC and Vegas in the fall, but barely said a word. Really kills a big part of the energy that I love at concerts.
