dontdamnmeuyi2015
This new series based on the Stephen King book started last night on HBO. Very good. I haven't read this King book and knew nothing about it. Anyway, it gets you thinking because being based on a King book you know something is not right with this whole crime. Anyway, two shows were on last night and it's got me hooked. If you like shows that have tons of suspense and shock and gets you thinking, this is the show for you. I have different theories, but not sure. I think this is one series that will keep you guessing until the ending.
dontdamnmeuyi2015
Got a clue as to what the outsider might be and it freaked me out. Got me thinking about stuff I don't like to think about. lol Stephen King has a winner with this one.

EvanG
I read the book, it started out great but ended terribly, so I won't be watching this. (I did enjoy his most recent novel a lot) Edited January 27, 2020 by EvanG
appetite4illusions
Can’t say I like it all that much. It begins like it’s True Detective and several episodes in, becomes something supernatural. I would say police procedurals and creature features don’t work so well together outside the X Files. Also, it’s kinda boring.
Coma16
I agree with the True Detective (and even The Night Of) feel of the shows, but being that its Stephen King I knew it would be supernatural. Loving it so far! Sort of reminds me of that Denzel movie Fallen (which was also great).

After Sunday's episode I am getting freaked out by whatever "it" is. But so anxious to keep watching it. Yeah, I figured since it was SK it would be supernatural at some point. Was shocked by one of the characters dying in the second episode. Didn't see that coming. I actually don't find it boring. I love how they build up the defense. The only thing was in episode I realized after a few minutes the story was going back and forth. Was confused for a second or two. Anyway, I do like it and can't wait to see what it is and what will happen to these characters? You know SK doesn't always have a happy ending. Same with IT I skipped alot of that book. Sometimes SK goes off in his own little world. lol I just hope this show continues to freak me out. Haven't read that book. I loved "The Dark half" I thought that was an awesome story and the movie was very good. I also read Pet Cemetery and The Stand and Carrie and Thinner, but haven't read any recent ones except for Cell, which I thought was pretty good. Hated the movie version. I have so many favorite authors that I'm always reading some book. I'm just excited to see where this The Outsider will end up? I love that woman character. She's so unique and so super smart. Now if we can get the cop to believe her and help her out before something horrible happens again.

She was introduced in The Bill Hodges Trilogy and evidently King liked her so much that he gave her a small role in The Outsider. You should read the trilogy if you like her because she has a bigger role in those novels.
RussTCB
We started watching this. We're through the episodes that are available. Very similar to Castle Rock, for obvious reasons. Liking it a lot so far though.
dontdamnmeuyi2015
Yeah, I'm liking it a lot too. I watch it on HBO on Sunday nights. Like the private detective woman alot. She's so unique and super smart. I do hope the cop gets on board with her theories. Started to watch "Avenue 5" with Hugh Laurie and it's very funny. It airs after The Outsider. There's been two seasons so far, which I liked a lot. I think you'll agree on the similarities beyond just the King connection.

I hate when that happens. She has amazing senses and I just love how she works.
dontdamnmeuyi2015
It was a little slow on Sunday. I really hope this show ends strong. I do hope the cop starts believing soon or it won't end well for him. Just that drawing along freaks me out. How could the cop not see that two people saw this guy and drew the same face? dontdamnmeuyi2015
Okay for all of you who watch this show. I have a question. Remember the episode when the black prisoner took a knife like weapon out of his leg and put it in his bible? Well, I thought he would use it as a weapon, but he used his glass lense to kill himself. So what do you think he was saving that knife weapon for? Do you think that could kill whatever is killing people on the show? I mean why make a point of showing him cutting it out of his leg and hiding it in his bible? I hope they go back to this. Also Cynthia rocked the Oscars the other night. What a beauty! and British to boot! So cool! She looked so beautiful and what a voice! She's a rising star in the US now for sure!
AtariLegend
I like this show, but it clearly was not 10 episodes worth of story. This was the 8th episode and at least 4 of them had very little plot advancement. This would have worked better as a 2 1/2 hr long film. dontdamnmeuyi2015
Only two episodes left. Looks to be an exciting ending. I was thinking the same thing about how long was this book? Guess they wanted to extend it to 10 episodes.

dontdamnmeuyi2015
Yeah, finally Ralph gets it. I just hope they can kill this thing, whatever it is.

dontdamnmeuyi2015
Next week HBO said "season finale" so I'm wondering if this series will go beyond this one? Anyway, last night's episode was very suspenseful. Everytime they show a little of that thing, it freaks me out.
sl4yer
Do you guys realised that Axl was rocking The Outsider T-Shirt at miami show? He’s also wearing Peaky Blinders shirt and I love both these shows so very cool to me Edited March 6, 2020 by sl4yer
