If we’re doing deep cuts (so no singles) id go with this:

1.Out Ta Get Me

2.Rocket Queen

3.Reckless Life (Live)

4.Used To Love Her

5.Perfect Crime

6.Double Talkin’ Jive

7.Pretty Tied Up (it was put out as a promo single at one point but whatever)

8.Locomotive

9.Down on the Farm

10.Black Leather

11.There Was a Time

12.Madagascar

13.Atlas Shrugged

14.Don’t Let It Bring You Down (there, I changed it)

15.Messages

So two songs per studio album, plus the three bonus tracks

Imagine if a new GH comes out before a new album...

Not sure...because of the silver bullet of GNRs Greatest Hits selling like hotcakes since its release 15 years ago.

Lets be honest its not surprisjng.

Considering the band released the L&L box and did the troubador show 12 months after the original anniversary date of appetite, nothing would surprise me.

The Garden

Double Talkin' Jive

Civil War

Welcome to the Jungle

November Rain

Coma

Figured make it a 2 disc set, 1 disc is difficult enough deciding just the Illusion albums, let alone the rest of the catalog.

It's pretty incredible that to this day we've never had a GNR 'best of' album, considering we've got laundry bags and toy trucks.

Maybe one day, and they might include a new song or two, and that might be how we finally get some freaking new material.

Greatest hits from 2004

Main criteria:

- Avoiding the "greatest hits" logic as much as possible.

- Representative of the versatility and evolution of the band (and telling its story, in a way).

  1. Welcome to the Jungle
  2. It's so Easy
  3. You're Crazy (Lies or Late Show version)
  4. Nightrain
  5. Rocket Queen
  6. Used to Love Her
  7. The Garden
  8. Don't Damn Me
  9. Civil War
  10. 14 Years
  11. Breakdown
  12. Locomotive
  13. Estranged
  14. Ain't It Fun
  15. Madagascar (Rough Mixes #1 version)
Spoiler

Bonus:

16. Money (That's What I Want)

j/k, but I think they could actually do a decent version of this song.

Greatest Hits V.2
1. Welcome to the Jungle
2. It's So Easy
3. Patience
4. Don't Cry
5. Mr. Brownstone
6. Paradise City
7. Civil War
8. Better
9. Sweet Child of Mine
10. Yesterdays
11. Rocket Queen
12. November Rain
13. Coma
14. Fall to Pieces
15. Estranged

I had a tough time deciding between a Fall to Pieces cover or a second song off ChiDem. Went with the former as something unreleased for fans.

I added CD because it works as an opener, but I don't think it should be on a GH album tbh.

Compilation albums of any kind (whether that be a greatest hits or a best of) are kind of a dead concept at this point, cause anyone could just make their own custom playlist on whatever streaming service they prefer now.

Axl, Slash, and Duff, communicating through lawyers, tried to put out a Best Of in 2004, but the label blocked it in favor of the Greatest Hits release, and then after that Axl went back to focusing on Chinese Democracy, and by the time that album finally came out, music sales had declined sharply (especially for music that people already had). So the opportunity to do a Best Of album ended long ago, imo.

SFTD has to be the most forgettable gnr song. I would rather add black leather instead.
