Trumps on spot? He wanted things reopened in April. So he lost hard and is a fool. Of course he still continues to want things reopened, after that epic fail. His "By Easter" disaster should give you pause.

You're really triggered by Trump.  You ignore my entire post (which was directed towards someone else btw) but only responded to the part about Trump.  So hollow.

Were strict safety measures implemented and followed?  If so, how so?

Lots of hand washing, kids separated into smaller groups (classes) with no interaction between groups, less hugging inside groups, lots of washing and disinfection of areas, kids have to stay home if they have any symptoms of respiratory diseases, no indoors physical training. Might me more. No face masks.

This has worked so well so now they have gone back to normal sized classes. Still lots of hand washing and trying to keep the kids from hugging and generally being all over each other.

As of yesterday, they finally allowed the corporate casinos to reopen in downtown Detroit.

The corporate casinos are actually wayyyy more cautious than the native American ones, but either way, it's cool to have more "normal life" back.

I bought some masks and gloves today. We've been advised to do so as NZ's health advisor guy said a 2nd wave is a question of when not if. I wish we would stop letting people into the country if you've been living in Germany or some place for 30 years or whatever and suddenly want to return and on top of that complain about and even defy needing to be quarantined in a hotel for 2 weeks, that's fucking bullshit.

That being said my satanic Eminem wannabe neighbour has been replaced by a milf so it's not all bad.

Take a creep shot for the lads.

It's really amazing, but so far the school opening the some states have been a mess.

Teachers are protesting that they don't want schools to open.

I did have a virtual meeting with my school last night. Classrooms are smaller, but on Monday virtual teaching begins. Classrooms are set to open after Labor Day. Not sure how many kids can be in a classroom. There is usually about 20 or so kids. I doubt that can happen. It looked like about 5 desks to each classroom. The teachers will be teaching different subjects to the kids. There will be time during the day to teach a child individually if they need extra help.

I guess we'll find out Monday how the virtual teaching will go. Meanwhile, there are still many parents who don't have a computer. Not sure if you can do this on your phone.

I still wish they would just push the school year back to 2021 and hope by then there is a vaccine. I doubt it, but I hope I'm wrong.

Since some air particles can stay in the air for a bit everyone is wearing a mask. I hope this is enough.

I think this virus mutates every time we try to something that will slow it down.

But if the federal government doesn't do something fast about testing, by the end of August it won't matter.

I saw one doctor on CNN saying how you not wearing a mask is bullshit and he sees people dying everyday. He also said if testing is not ramped up, it'll be too late.

Doctors in Dallas along with Gov. Abbott had a meeting yesterday.

They talked about the corona virus and how people should start getting their flu shot as early as September because between the flu and the virus doctors will be up to their eye balls in cases.

I can't get my flu shot until after October 23. Otherwise, insurance won't pay for it.

My mom also needs a pneumonia and the new shingles shot.

Getting a flu and pneumonia won't help against the corona virus because it attacks the lungs and other organs differently.

Since Texas doesn't get fall weather until after October or even November, I hope we can hold out for our flu shots.

I bet once flu season comes around some people will get both the flu and the virus. May God help us all.

CNN is nothing more than Trump bashing fear mongers.  I'm sure you love their narrative.

In fairness, the international version of CNN is nothing like the U.S. version.  (Last time I watched the international version years ago, anyway).

It seemingly had much more reporting of “just the news” vs. opinion. That probably has to do with the fact that there’s a lot more news to report on a global level vs. primarily US News.

This news is new in. Obviously in cinemas it is completely unenforceable once the lights go down, and they even say you can remove it whilst eating. Typical Boris dog's dinner.

I smoke my vaporiser in the cinema and no one notices.  The trick is to take a puff but hold it in a few seconds, then exhale downwards, no ones ever noticed.  That coupled with booze at the cinema revitalised by cinema-going.

Careful with those vapes.  Initially (and on the surface) they seemed like a great idea years ago.  I also vaped for some time.  But it's becoming apparent that they could be just as bad (likely worse) than smoking.  One of the reasons being that vapor, by nature, is essentially water molecules, mixed with other substances.  Much easier to spread (and feed)  bacteria, viruses, etc that way vs smoking that has the opposite effect (kills bacteria, etc).

Best bet is to take an edible before you go in, imo. ;)

Ahh...I gotcha.  I thought you were referring to vaping "medicinal marijuana"....

Have you ever tried nicotine gum?  It takes a bit to get used to but after a few days, it's about as effective as smoking a cigarette.   Also, much less expensive.  I would think that you could potentially get them for free in the UK if they consider it a health benefit. (Trying to quit smoking)?

Nah, I like the act of inhaling and all that, I don't just want the nicotine hit.  It just feels right y'know, like the way smoking felt.  Fags are like 12 pound a pack, 12 fuckin' pounds, I get a months worth of smoking out of 25 quid with this thing, plus its stronger than cigs.

Yeah, I understand.  I smoked on and off for a while as well.
