I made a compilation 5 years ago of all available soundboards from that period. Would love to find time to revise it and use sources that have since come out, but the thought of investing that much time when DJ Ashba features is not time well spent. Some great fucking shows Axl and the guys put on over that period. Just a shame one album is all there is to show for it.

Have any of ya'll ever compiled a playlist of the best performances of every ChiDem track '00-14 ?

With the purge of live GnR on YT it seems almost impossible now to try and make one myself :(

From memory, I believe my favorites (based on YouTube audience recordings) were:

Chinese Democracy - Download 2006

Shackler’s Revenge - Osaka 2009

Better - Rock AM Ring 2006

Street of Dreams - Boston 2002

If the World - (something from 2010)

There Was a Time - Taipei 2009

Catcher in the Rye - L’Arc 2010

Scraped - Seoul 2009 (I guess)

Riad  - (something from 2002)

Sorry - (something from 2010)

IRS - Saskatoon 2010

Madagascar - Rock In Rio 2001

This I Love - Dublin 2010

Prostitute - Vegas 2014

NOTE: when I say “favorites,” I mean based on Axl’s voice, not based on sound quality!

They even look entirely different too lol most easily represented in Robin's fast change from "albino space alien" to "Jesus with a Les Paul"

I’ve seen guns close to 20 times. My issue with using YouTube based selections is from seeing them I know it’s not a great representation of how they sound live(specifically axl). I’ve been to shows where he’s been destroyed online by his vocals where seeing it live it sounded much better.

we would need professional cuts of these songs from the sound board...also remember the evolution of the CD songs throughout the years. The live sound changed quite a bit.

part of me thinks live box set showing of each time of the band 2002/2006/2010 etc to show the differences between the sound of the lineups. Each formation can make each song sound different.

I really appreciate the great musicianship of the NuGNR lineups. Not that the UYI lineup didn't have that, the '93 shows really show how well they mastered those performances.

I honestly was so skeptical listening to the Nu lineup because Axl wasn't always consistent, and Ashba sucks, but Robin, Fortus, and Bumble really brought a lot of the old GN'R songs and gave them a great, modern twist. CD is a great album to perform live. Plus, they times that Axl is on fire, The Hammerstein show, immediately comes to mind; it blows my mind. I may be in the minority, but the '02 tour only has a couple decent performances; but 06-07, and 09-10 are sooooooooo good. Thanks to @RussTCB for pointing me to the 07 shows. We need more GN'R proshots damnit! They need to stream and upload some like Metallica has been

You're welcome. I'm glad you enjoyed those shows. I get crushed online for saying that the 2007 lineup is my favorite. That run of shows in 07 in Japan show why I feel that way.

Couldn't agree more. Ponytail/goatee/leather vest Axl was a different animal. Hungry and out there to prove himself with a band so dialed in and locked in on their parts. Those couple of years generated some truly unbelievable performances. Robin/Bumble/4tus was a remarkable trio that fit so goddamn well together. Not sure there's ever been an era of Guns that matches that lineup for me.

I've made a playlist using the Las Vegas '01, Rock In Rio 3, Boston & Pittsburgh '02 soundboards.

Don't have time right now for one from '06-'14

Live And Let Die from Pittsburgh '02 has some incredible screams.

I wish there was a full soundboard recording of the Columbus '02 show.

What's the quality like on the songs that are available? Never heard the Columbus soundboard.
