I normally hate RQ now, but somehow I enjoyed this version. Still not in love with the huge middle solo section, but I guess it is what is! guitar players love to play😴 And the drums under the slide solo... just no! different is sometimes good, but in this instance it's a swing and a miss!

I agree 100% with that, as well as Richard’s part during the Slide solo being audible for once and I’ve never heard that before. Enjoyed the cheesy porno vibe to it

Regarding Axl's voice... i think not many of the harsh critics realize this man has sung for 4 years in a row some of the most dificult songs tehnic-wise to sing. We all know a GN'R concert is a long show, aprox 3 hours. And that's not all. He sung for ACDC like a MOFO !!! IMO AXL ROSE is the best rock vocalist/song writer/ lyricist and performer ever.No one can come even close.Far away is Freddy but Axl is unhuman.

I think everybody is well aware that GNR have been touring non stop:rofl-lol:

Also let's be honest, 2017-2020 his voice was shot. It was the exception when he'd come out and knock it out of the park, so don't try to frame it like "Well it was just a long tour". I totally get that there's vocal fatigue, and maybe!? they pushed it too hard in that first year doing multiple nights in a row etc. but that is not the concern of the ticket buying fan.

Axl was a great singer, these days he's average on a good day! I don't enjoy saying that, but I also have no problem saying it because it's 100% accurate. We have acclimated to his new less good voice and learnt to accept it... but it's really not good a lot of times, so saying otherwise is not being a great fan, it's being a blind worshipper. last time I was blown away by Axl was a performance of Shadow of your love and another one of Out ta get me, I wish I could remember the shows! he sounded like vintage Axl... it just kills me that, he has that voice but rarely breaks it out.

Freddy is the king, there are also a number of other singers that kick the shite out of Axl live. Axl is hands down my favourite studio singer, but live he is very hit and miss.

Well, its hard to compare singers cause its all a matter of taste.

FOR ME, the best live Axl anihilates the best Freddy, the best Tyler, the best Steve Perry, etc.

But they are all great. I’ve been enjoying a lot of Matt Bellamy’s live performances, the guy is a beast.

Adjust your expectations is fan speak for It's not good, but just like it any way!!

We all know he can do better on SCOM... he sounds terrible, I love his voice when he chooses to use it but If this was the first time hearing these songs there's not a chance in hell I'd be a fan of this band. I'm not adjusting my expectations, I expect the musicians I pay exceptionally high ticket prices to sing to a minimum standard, and in my book that SCOM vocal is about a 4/10. I would find it hard to believe he would stand over this and say "I really like how I sound on this".

I enjoyed parts, and I'm glad some of ye enjoyed most or all of it! I'm not trying to change your minds, I'm just saying what I heard.

I hear you, I paid $250 for GA in 2016 and I would never do it again with the way he sounds. I agree with that assessment of how SCOM sounds. It's just that I haven't heard him sing it any better in 4 years. I don't think he can do any better.

It’s so much more apparent to me the more shows and vids I’ve seen of NITL that the 2006 lineup was the best sounding lineup they’ve had since the original 5. They just don’t sound good together live anymore. None of them. Top to bottom.

Wish Finck and Tommy were back. At least there was integrity there. Axl should have trusted his gut and stayed with his hired guns. Slash at times, trying to reinvent things, is just as bad as axl trying to keep the same pitch/tone he used 30+ years ago...they are pushing the performance instead of feeling it.

Indeed well put. Its very bad.

Props for the release. Super flat, though. Bummer. Not sure if it's performance energy or the mix... not sure how you can watch something like this more than once.

No chemistry, no energy, crowd is snoozing.... watching this just stresses me out -- nobody is having fun!

Back to the 90's we gooooo *whoosh*

I saw this just now.

Its a thousand better than the first one. Oh yeah no doubt. I enjoyed it a thousand way more.

Im not gonna say its perfect but never was perfect. Like always.

Some details i saw:

- Very good sound. Sound mix... idk. Its sound like GnR live.

- Did FF almost cutted the Slash solo in RQ?

- i would buy a Download bluray. Definitely.

- Axl was acurate. I dont like scom live, but Slash saves the song like a monster.

- i repeat, this is a better good job. Take my money on this kind of shit. The first sucked so much that this its almost a 1991.

AXl sounded like this before AXLDC and then thunder struck and we were all like WTF!!!!! Why cant he sing like that for GNR?!?!?!?!?

There is no question in my mind that he can still kill it with rasp when he wants to and his natural range/voice is as good as ever.

I would pay more money to hear half the set with ACDC AXL than three hours of MICKEY.

I felt different when I first heard it yesterday. I thought I liked the first video more and I'm surprised most people think it's an improvement. Seemingly because I place more importance on guitar than on vocals maybe. But then again, Axl had his moments on this but overall it's still not a good performance imo. For the first video they choosed songs where he sings with his deeper voice and it fits better imo. On this one he sucked most of the time. But even Slash managed to fuck up a few parts, like improvising the second SCOM solo or playing a boring RQ middle part. With The Conspirators he takes you to a journey when playing this, but with Guns he doesn't have the time to do it, instead, he has to share the time he's got with Fortus who places a strange sounding odd solo. Really weird. Otherwise Slash shined on Slither as on the main solo and outro of SCOM.

That was my first impression but I have to give it another listen.

Yeah. I'm watching now and enjoying the video very much. I've seen and enjoyed 5 shows in 2018, so I know what to expect.

Read a few 'anyone who likes this is deaf and blind' comments, and others calling that 'healthy debate' and decided not to bother with the rest of the thread

I feel like a fangirl again though. Still hoping for a NITL release.

Thanks Fernando for putting this up. You see some of us are grateful :P

Nitl can be good or bad like the first release. This is a good job. Get them a bonus. A stimulus check and make it happen.

While I still don't understand the choices (why not 2016??), this is way better than the first one. And Slash is a beast, I'll keep saying that till I die. The band used to be mostly about Axl, but now...

Edit: The sound of drums is horrible though, and I can barely hear them.

At this point I’m convinced that the Lebeis family, after years of telling Axl he still sounds amazing, have bought into their own lie and can’t tell the difference anymore. I can’t understand why they’re choosing some of Axl’s worst performances and why they would highlight YCBM and SCOM in the same video, along with choosing SCOM for the Super Bowl show. I almost wouldn’t highlight YCBM period, I know it’s a classic but it’s embarassing at this point and shouldn’t even be in the setlist.

Actual video, sound was way better than last week. Slither pro shot is exciting. I just wish Axl/TB would put more effort into disguising Axl’s weak moments since these always incite hundreds of “Axl sounds like mickey” throughout social media and youtube comments and have the potential to go viral in a negative way. I may be alone on this but I wouldn’t have even minded some overdubbing here :shrugs:

I read the comments first so did not know what to expect.  I enjoyed it and found Axl to be more animated then I expected, I have not been to a GnR concert yet, and after seeing this I would definately go.  I know it would not be the same as the early days but I think its all about expectations, it is 30 years since the beginning.  Thanks Fernando.
