Popular Post Gambit83
Guns N' Roses drummer Frank Ferrer joins us via Zoom to chat about his band "PSSR" on Golden Robot Records, his other NYC band "Mule Kick," and of course Guns N' Roses. How did he join the band? What's it like playing with the biggest band in the world? What might new music sound like? Special co-hosts Mark Alexander-Erber (CEO of Golden Robot Records) and Kristen Tully (Artist Development Manager - GRR) Video - https://bit.ly/3ctktqV Podcast - https://ihr.fm/2LrUc0t - I had fun. I always was and will remain a fan of Frank. Hope to have him on again. FYI he went to hang with Brain after the interview. 9 2
MaskingApathy
Nice, I'll check it out later today. I like the idea of doing it as a video call, maybe you can do more interviews like that?

But quarantine rules seem to apply. I am getting better audio equipment do to episodes at home though.

Gordon Comstock
Shame that he dodged the question about Hardschool, but thanks for asking about it. (about 35 minutes into the podcast, for anyone who wants to skip ahead)

Joraz
I think in him not wanting to speak about it shows that its in the works and him saying that “management to make a formal announcement” kind of says that its in the works so hopefully we’ll hear it soon. But thanks @Gambit83for asking, he wasnt offended or anything and you handled it professionally. Thanks for representing the fans in such a professional way, good work and you rock
Sosso
I'm just happy that he took some of his time to appear on the podcast. It was a lot of fun listening to this episode. The same can be said about any of the other guests.

soon
Im just glad theres no one asking me all the hard hitting questions! Imagine someone sits you down and starts at you with "Why cant you get your boss to give you a raise? You have had no impact on the history of rock. Why arent you a better gardener - is it because Slash and Duff made you do it that way or do you just suck? Your striped pants are too tight. Brain gets to work closely with Mel on soundtracks, but you only get to release side projects to soundcloud - why bother?" I'd f'n cry, fam! 1

That was my experience with the Matt Sorum interview.
reayj2003
Uhm..wondering if he knows what the current band would sound like in a studio or not??
Gordon Comstock
The "how would the current band sound in the studio" part would've been a good time to ask if he's recorded any drum parts since 2006-08...

Stay.Of.Execution
Frank is genuinely a nice guy. The part with "how would gnr sound in the studio" is weird though and sounds like they haven't been in one yet.

Perhaps it really is CD 2 with overdubs..but then again he moved to LA to be closer to the band. its a case of wait & see
Voodoochild
That was a cool interview. Frank knows if he would just say "yeah, gnr in studio sounded like that" people would already assume things. The feeling I get is that the way he described as a punk-rock vibe means that's what they already had.
AXL_N_DIZZY
Fantastic interview (as always) Gambit. I found Frank’s answer on trying to find the “happy medium” between Steven/Matt in a way that also works for Slash n’ Duff really interesting. As far as the current Line-up veering more toward an “aggressive” feel in studio- I think it would be brilliant- especially with the very positive response to “SOYL”, and how the band kills it on “Coma” (IMHO), etc. 1

Like how he’s imagine they would sound playing & writing new songs in the studio. His description is basically how VR were described. So either it’s only the big 3 working on new material with some input from Dizzy & Richard possibly. or they are writing and recording with a More renowned studio drummer with no interest in touring, like a Josh Freese type

WildStar
Great interview Brando. The new music style sounds promising. We just need to hear the fucker. Brain and Frank together would make a sweet future podcast
