StrangerInThisTown
Hey guys, I came across this album on Amazon but I dont have Amazon Music so I cant check them out and don't want to subscribe, but I've never come across these songs and google has nothing to say either. They are on this album called "Rock 'n' Roll Rebels & the Sunset Strip, Vol. 1" and it has 2 songs from Hollywood Rose on it, called Sweet Little Angel and Come A Little Closer. I'm curious to hear them since it would be new Axl vocals to me. Anyone got any info? https://www.amazon.com/Rock-Roll-Rebels-Sunset-Strip/dp/B00V5UENKC
Blackstar
In 1989 Chris Weber briefly reformed Hollywood Rose (with new members, of course) and recorded some demos, so probably this is where these songs are from, as Weber sold all the original Hollywood Rose demos to Cleopatra Records (which released the "Roots of Guns N' Roses" album). Blackstar
They are indeed by Weber's version of Hollywood Rose. I see Sweet Angel was on the soundtrack of a movie called Miami Blues, credited to "Chris Weber & Hollywood Rose": http://sweetsoundtrack.com/Movies/miami-blues-1990 https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0100143/soundtrack

Wasn't a full album demoed? I recall hearing about that.

Yes, according to Wikipedia (but it doesn't cite any sources). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hollywood_Rose#Reformation_(1989-1990) There was a mention of the reformation at the end of this 1989 interview: https://www.a-4-d.com/t2906-1989-10-dd-rock-scene-guns-n-roses-the-shocking-truth-robert-john-chris-weber (Editors Note: Chris Weber has recently reformed Hollywood Rose and should have inked a major record deal by now. Stay posted for a story on his new outfit in a future issue.) I suppose, since Weber signed a record deal, he probably had demoed more than two songs.

Do you know what Weber received for his sale of those demos or whether Axl attempted to block the sale?

I don't know how much Weber got for the demos. But yes, Axl, along with Slash and Duff, did try to block the release. Coincidentally, I recently posted the court ruling (with which their lawsuit was dismissed) and a related press article here: https://www.a-4-d.com/t5052-2004-07-09-ap-indiana-gazette-judge-rejects-request-to-stop-hollywood-rose-album https://www.a-4-d.com/t5184-2004-07-02-court-ruling-document-hollywood-rose-album-lawsuit
