I guess Bon Jovi would be in this list Apart from the obvious (Poison etc.) he said he didn't like Whitesnake's 1987 hit album at all and it seems he didn't like INXS. I also don't think he liked Van Halen too much.

I believe the Singer of Nazareth was a big influence, so Id assume that library. Bon era AC/DC Pink Floyd, The Wall, Final Cut (iirc) Pearl Jam, Vitalogy-Yeild (at least) Ozzy, No More Tears ( I assume, since after that he tried to poach Zakk??) Also Nine Inch Nails (Robin, Josh) Buckethead Lusk (Chris) Soundtracks and Scores (Beltrami, Buckmaster) Edited September 5, 2020 by Sosso

Accrding to Chris, Billy Howerdel gave Axl a copy of the album. He liked the weird guitar sounds and the synth orchestra so much that Chris was hired as the bands newest member. Alan Antimatter
Has Axl ever mentioned Def Leppard? I know a few members of GNR and Leppard have jammed/hung out together and I believe Axl and Joe Elliott got on ok.

Axlr0s37
Full Moon Fever was my first album. If you like that then Wildflowers. Definitely the first album Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers.

I thought I was going to hear D’Yer Maker and be blown away. I was not. Zeppelin is the kind of band that grows on you immensely. I started with Latter Days and it was Kashmir that got me hooked. Now I own their entire discography and they're one of my favourite bands but it did take some time for the material to sink in.

SilverMachine
Cant find any trace online, but when Primal Scream played in a big top on Victoria Park in London back in 1997, I remember Melody Maker's review saying Axl was on the guest list. This would have been around the time of Vanishing Point.

I think I'd have to say the Best of the Beatles. 2
