BadApples87
See my list below. Of those, the highlights were seeing them in 91 at the LA Forum just before the Illusions were released. Hearing the new tunes live was great and Izzy was still in the band. Also, the Guns and Metallica show was legendary of course. I was also at the show in Sacramento where Duff unfortunately got hit in the head with a bottle and the show had to be cut short. It had been a great show up to that point though. Sisyphus
Three. Milano 2006 Zagreb 2010 Vienna 2017 I have made a conscious decision not to see them plenty of times when they were in close proximity due to Axl's declining performance. Zagreb was my favourite. Axl was in sublime form. Edited August 14, 2021 by Sisyphus
S1lkw0rm1
I was 10 and 11 years old when they came to Argentina in '92 and '93. My parents didn't let me go because it was "too dangerous". Also, because we were poor. I was able to see them in their future visits: - Buenos Aires, 2010 - La Plata, 2011 - Buenos Aires (with Duff) , 2014 - Rosario, 2016 - Buenos Aires (2 shows - Guest appearences by Steven), 2016 - La Plata, (with The Who), 2017 - I have tickets for Sevilla in June and Buenos Aires in September. My first GN'R related gig was Gilby Clarke in 2000. I saw him three or four times more. I also saw Duff and Slash every time they visited Buenos Aires. I saw Velvet Revolver twice. Dizzy showed up to a listening party when Chinese Democracy was released. I hope to be able to see Izzy one day. Like past 4AM in the morning, and we had to watch like 4 bands before GnR so we were DEAD when they came on. Plus, it was raining like hell. Everyone was soaking wet. And it was a Sunday. We did have Estranged for the first time since classic GnR but still… not worth it.
mikeman5150
Yeah I guess if you were there that long it would’ve sucked. I watched the live stream on YouTube and it remember it being pretty damn late before they came on. I saw a bit of seputuras set which I think went a lot later than it was supposed to. How was the sound live? Did you realize then that he was struggling, or was it decent and not until after the fact you realized he was off for most of the set? Fitha_whiskey
I’ve been to 10. Enjoyed every single one of them. 8/9/88 Weedsport NY- AFD lineup, opened for Aerosmith. This was one week before they taped the PC video in NJ 6/10/91 Saratoga Springs NY- Adler out, Sorum in. We were the crowd chanting “get in the ring” on UYI2. Skid Row opened 7/25/92 Orchard Park NY- Izzy out, Gilby in. With Metallica and FNM 11/12/11 Kansas City- Ashba/ Bumble lineup. Adelita’s Way opened- Shittiest band I’ve ever seen at a big show 6/12/13 Kansas City- in a theater on a Sunday night. Axl came off his tour bus and ran into the back door of the theater way before the show, about 15 feet from me on the sidewalk, and gave me the peace sign. Did VIP and met Dizzy, Frank, Ashba. Got an autographed Axl poster that now hangs in my house 5/14 Vegas- No Trickery. Forgot which show 4/8/16 Vegas- we all know about this one 6/29/16 KC 7/27/17 St Louis 10/7/19 Wichita Edited August 21, 2021 by Fitha_whiskey
