None of the above. Rework the setlist to feature songs that Axl can sound good singing, maybe actually releases new music so Axl has stuff to sing with his current range, and rework some existing song

There's no reason other than stubbornness for the quality of later NITL shows. The guy could be singing Bad Obsession, Down On The Farm, You Ain't The First, Pretty Tied Up and others every night whil

I have another option for Axl: Workout daily, eat healthy, get enough sleep, practise singing and when down rather do the right weed strain instead of booze or anti-depressants = problem solved, great

I agree....but I also think way, way less shows is the way forward. No way can his voice hold up for the level of touring they attempt- no one's could. It's just too much.

Way way less touring would mean his voice wouldn't take the battering it has done over the past few years, and also that he doesn't need to 'save' it every night for fear it might not last the whole marathon tour. Less is more.

I mostly agree, but honestly Axl tends to sound the best when he screams, so tuning down is not always the best solution. Nice Boys is a great example of this. He always sounds good on it when they play it fast and he can scream every word. But when they play it slower, Axl can't scream it from start to finish. He can't drag his screaming voice long enough when they play it slower, so he's forced to use his singing voice and then he automatically sounds worse.

Yeah a shorter setlist, d-tuning, less running around, and a focus on lower-register songs (aside from the AFD big 3, of course) would make the newer shows A LOT better. Axl needs to accept that he’s not in his 20s anymore (imo, at least).

Ding Ding. This post wins the thread - agree with every word.

Or... tell Axl to run around less.

He's 58, he barely runs anymore compared to 2010 for example when he was literally sprinting non stop. He needs to keep moving because otherwise  it's a very dull show visually.

this is so typical of this forum and such a BS thread.  shorter setlist, less shows.  period.  he plays for 3 hrs and tours like mad.

he is still a god of a live vocalist when he is on and better when he is off than people here comparing him to early 90s/2005/acdc etc want to admit

Heeeeeeeeelll no.

He's on stage with other rock icons. He doesn't need to be running [out of breath] to be entertaining. The AC/DC approach would be so much better.

Acdc have angus running up and down constantly, plus the songs styles, the beat of the drum the constant foot tapping, head banging to the riff. Coma, estranged, KOHD whilst some of my fav GnR songs, can be incredibly dull live when the singer cant sing, slash stands still and the band dont seem into it. If he gets out of breath, he should get fitter. Those tickets are expensive!

Yea, exactly... nobody pays $300 to see Axl run around, they pay to hear him sing, which he can't do anymore while he's running.

If Axl sounds bad and the band sounds bored they should replace those songs (KOHD will never be dropped but they could certainly drop Coma, Estranged, Rocket Queen, Better and others.) Trying to be a "showman" does not make up for a poor vocal performance or make me feel like I got more of my moneys worth.

He could do the Estranged intro in his speaking voice instead of that stupid fucking "whispering grandma" thing he does. The band could be playing relatively great 2~ hour shows. But he has no business singing Better or Rocket Queen or whatever every night just so the band can say they "play a 3+ hour show."

This. Plus lose a good 30kgs. No reason why he cant.

If the 18and 19 NITL selects have shown hes more off than on.

He could easily change the setlist to focus on his lower register, because his whispering grandma/mickey mouse helium voice wont cut it.

He sang excellent with ACDC but shit with his own band.
