I'm thinking about gender reversal in films.

Miss Congeniality

A hardworking, yet quirky male police officer has to do an undercover job as a Calvin Klein model.

It's funny, heartwarming, and it turns out that he's already hot, so it's not a huge transformation.

They made $212 million with exactly the same story featuring Sandra Bullock.

My Big Fat Greek Wedding

A man takes off his glasses and cardigan and marries a Greek woman.

$241 million.

I really need to get into show business.

Spent Eastern down south with my mother where I was born. I really like the place. I didn't like it when I moved from there at 19, but as I've grown older I have really come to appreciate all that  is good about it. Especially when returning back to Trondheim in a blizzard. Left spring to rejoin winter. Ugh. Talked to my mom, we will take over her house when she leaves/dies. Like a vacation home in the south. A place I can move to when I am old. It's a beautiful place to be old. Almost no snow and excellent for hikes. Just relaxing and quiet. My wife agrees. Couldn't be happier. Can't wait to get old!

Great for you! I would love to do it the other way around. Move up north in the summer when it gets too hot here  Sadly, no family with property there to inherit, so I'll have to get my own.

I must admit I was getting a bit scared when I read: Can't wait to... But glad you don't wish your mother any harm :)

Baseball is such an unbelievably boring sport to watch. Fucking terrible.

It doesn't offer the visual engagement of tennis nor football. It expect it's a really fun sport to play though.

I watched the movie Moneyball last night and had no idea what was happening in the baseball scenes.

It’s okay in person. I’ve been to a couple of games in Philly and had a great time.

I bet you did. The only sport you can sit on your arse for 2 hours and still be on the winning team.

If it's still a problem replace it with the original:

Another police shooting. More riots. What else is new?

I tell you these times it's hard for both the police and regular police to live peacefully.

It seems the police are becoming the enemy because of some bad applies.

In these hard times you don't know who to trust and police get no respect either.

Stopping someone at a traffic stop can cost you your life as if did for one Texas Ranger recently. He was white and the guy who shot and killed him was black. Nothing was made of it. It seems now no matter what the police do, it's wrong. Even if they are chasing down a criminal who is black and they kill him or accidently injure of kill them they are wrong.

Too many tragic things are happening right now and they don't seem to stop.

Being a police these days is very hard because it's getting to be how do I act now? Should I take out my weapon or not? Will I get killed stopping someone at a stop light or if they have a warrant out for their arrest. I think too many police are questioning what they should do now and that's now good for either party.

I don't envy the police these days. They also have families they want to protect and do the right thing and they are human and make mistakes like we all do.

The cop who sat on George Floyd's neck was totally wrong and did cause his death, but other incidents are just accidents or a police office making the wrong call.  It's a no win situation for anyone these days.

If things don't get better I'm afraid the police won't be protecting anyone anymore for fear of doing the wrong thing or being accused of acting wrong whatever they do. We're fucked then.

I have had some situations in my life that I was so very happy to have a cop come to my aid. Whatever happend to those days?

Imagine a nation where guns were generally illegal. Some specialist police officers could use them if they were qualified. But regular police officers only have a baton and pepper spray.

That's how the UK operates. Police aren't accidentally killing citizens. But neither are citizens killing the police nor each other. There will always be rogues, but the risk is greatly reduced.

Guns create more problems than they solve. It's time to remove them from US society.

It's far easier to massacre a school with a machine gun than a knife though.

While I agree with your statement, terrorists will find other ways to kill others if we take guns out of the equation. They will just start bombing schools and other buildings.

Society is full of sick and twisted people. People will continue to murder until we are all dead.

Yeah, that doesn't happen at anywhere the same rate in other developed countries as it does in the US.  It's not a human nature problem; it's a policy problem.  Otherwise all developed nations would share similar murder rates when controlled for poverty, education, social mobility, healthcare.  They don't.  America is an outlier for the simple reason it does fuck all about keeping guns away from terrible people.

Guns rule! They shouldn’t be allowed but they are awesome.

I agree.  They are cool and I'd love to have a hand at different models at a shooting range.  But the idea that anyone can have one is insane.

Especially me!

Last time I got my hands on a hand gun in Texas I almost deafened myself shooting (full) paint cans in my brother-in-laws garage.

Did you know they were full before you started shooting them?

I'll never understand why Americans love their guns :shrugs: I also don't understand why their healthcare is so expensive compared to the rest of the world.

I've only seen a tiny bit of USA and everyone I met was awesome, but I don't think I'd wanna live there just because of those 2 issues.
