Muddy
Forgive me if this is the wrong section to post this and I will promptly delete this post if someone can help me find the song I’m looking for. There was an instrumental song that was supposedly recorded by members of the Nu GNR lineup in the late 90s or early 2000s that was sold to a Mexican band who changed it up a bit and released it. It was mentioned a couple times on this forum but I’ve used the search feature and can’t seem to locate any of the posts. Can anyone help me out? It had a very cool guitar part in it that I’m trying to learn. Thanks in advance .
Gordon Comstock
I think I remember the song you're talking about... Fortus even played on it if I remember correctly. I think the GNR instrumental was As It Began, I don't remember what the other song was called though. There's also this, which uses part of The General as an intro before turning into a shit metal song

Thanks for the reply though . that’s the one . I don’t have a clue what the lyrics mean but the song itself is really good and if it was in fact a potential GNR song it could have been amazing if it was beefed up and streamlined a bit . Not much going on in the GNR world lately so might be a cool listen for any other members who haven’t heard it yet
2008 Intentions
Hello, Im from Mexico and I say something about this in gnrevolution long time ago. This song was played by the band in a jam in 2006 (more or less). The lyrics are so fucking awesome. and came back to believe... In the edge I Slide slow as time went by I tie my knees, untie my guts That's how I invent myself and that's how I exist I am the war, I am the fight god without heaven, relentless being person without beginning, your first step That's how I invent myself and that's how I exist On the edge I begin and I am wrong and I find immensity Unfolding humans we will be immaculate breed Unfolding souls, We will make redeemable gods That's how I invent myself and that's how I exist That's how I invent myself and that's how I exist That's how I invent myself and that's how I exist That's how I invent myself and that's how I exist and I came back to believe, to live and I came back to believe, to live
Powderfinger
They’re almost as good as these lyrics: I feel a diamond shine Somewhere in my mind When I hear the sound shine The 8th of December in 2004 The wicked tragedy and horror that would shock us all The was a diamond shining Shining so bright out there A bright and shining star of Texas shining everywhere Silent insane and evil Thoughts stolen from his mind He has come to destroy Dimebag Where he plays and shines The Alrosa villa Columbus Ohio Damageplan are rocking out doing their metal show Up to the stage he's walking The gun is in his hand He starts shooting and won't stop until he's taken down From behind the madman A single shot gun blast Ends the madness but the horror of that night still lasts Dimebag is shot four time And three more lost their lives And seven wounded by the evil In that twisted mind Fifteen shots are fired Thirty five to go The courage and the carnage Of that night in Ohio We are broken now We are broken down Though you died You will always be alive here in me Though you died I feel a diamond shine Somewhere in my mind When I hear the sound shine

It looks like the artist responded to some comments referring to it being an un released GN’R song. Sounds pretty close to “as it begins” to me!?
