No Hard Rock Atlantic City thread?

Recommended Posts

I agree, it took until the almost 200th show on this next cycle of another never ending tour for us to stick the fork in them.

I mean, how could we not have a 500+ page thread on their show at the Hard Rock in Atlantic City?! Such a historic venue!

why should there be a thread for a single show when there's a thread for the whole tour? dont get it

You mean the Canceled North American tour thread? The thread that says "Canceled" and is about the canceled shows, while this is about a newly announced uncanceled show?

at this point it's obviously not about the cancelled shows but the newly announced. a mod just needs to rename it

I'm sure it will be in the "2021 Tour Dates" section sooner or later; and in the meantime, I don't see a reason why there should be a thread in the main section about a show that's happenning in the middle of September when it's the beginning of June now and there are about 15 shows preceding this one...

Yeah, that's part of losing the fanbase

We're all still here though, which is pretty remarkable. Speaking for myself, I'm still a huge fan.....I'm just bored and not interested in the live shows as it stands.

GNR's fanbase hasn't really ever been that big since the 90s, there was just the 'box ticking casuals' blip of NITL. They weren't really fans though, and they're vanishing rapidly. The fanbase hasn't actually gone anywhere really though.

This thread is very meta. It calls for the creation of a thread for Hard Rock Atlantic City, and in itself has become a thread for Hard Rock Atlantic City.

This is some Inception shit right here.

I will honestly never understand how some people were so bent out of shape over the Brooklyn Bowl gig. It was so obviously a secret show as a warmup gig for Governors Ball - it was only announced like 36 hours in advance. It’s not like they were relegated to playing bowling alleys like people claimed, it’s literally the only time they did it. And it was a fun gig and it was obvious the band was having fun too. Sometimes even big name musicians like to just play a small place and enjoy themselves. It’s not like anyone knocks the Stones when they do a club gig as a tour warmup - how is this any different?

I think Ron added fuel to the fire of those sentiments with his "What's next, bar mitzvahs?" crack.  In the dark days (2012-14) even the band knew TB was booking shows pretty much anywhere willing to pay them.  It was kind of silly.

does anyone have video of the time they played a bowling alley lol too funny and cliché to be true

I would have loved to have been there. Super cool. I imagine it would have been easier to interact with the band too.

Does anyone else remember when GNR played that private Russian party?  I remember seeing a clip where DJ, who was typically over performing, jumped on a table to look like a badass and accidently kicked over some dudes drink all over him.  The guy was a big dude and looked at DJ like he was deciding whether or not to kill him in that moment. Pretty great stuff.

Edit: Now that's a headline!  "GUNS N ROSES GUITARIST SWIFTLY EXECUTED AFTER SPILLING DRINK ON RUSSIAN MOBSTER"

The funny thing about that show was the absolute cracking version of You're Crazy.

Exactly. Robert Plant, Kanye West and plenty of other big names have played that venue, but for people who already disliked the CD era it's fun to say 'hurr durr they play bowling alleys haha'.

I saw GnR in 2014 at the Sands Casino in Bethlehem Pennsylvania as a warm up show to their Rock on the Range show.

It was a really small venue, but the awesome thing it's right in my back yard.  15 minutes away from my home.  It was super cool seeing Axl there so up close and personal. It wasn't the best GnR show I've been to but one of the most fun anyway

Always cool to see the legends in a small venue.

Casinos will pay a lot of money to get top acts to perform at their event centers. It's about getting people in the door so they will gamble. Maybe a little bit of money laundering too, I don't know.

I drove an hour and a half each way to that Bethlehem gig. It was fun but I was bummed that they didn't play Civil War. Also killed my first ever piece of roadkill on the way there. :(
