Yeah, it definitely feels incomplete vocally. When I first heard the demo I was convinced that Axl had yet to write the middle eight part. I like Slash's parts, but it does feel a little underwritten, although not as obviously so as Absurd.

I thought those middle parts are their new thing. Like the new typical Gn'R thing in the middle of each song. Like a common thread.

I like what Slash does though.

Yeah the more I listen to it the more I love Slash’s tone in the middle part in and of itself. I think he intentionally made it sound very similar to his UYI tone there. It’s the musical equivalent of the cinematic Easter egg..the longtime fans get/feel the significance.

Has anyone called the number from the video?

So I called the locker (Zutaut hint?) number, and the voice told me to buy GNR toy trucks, and then said "obrigado" or something, idk, weird.

Finally given it a listen, really enjoying the song. Instantly sounds more GNR than anything since 93.

Pretty wild to think we’ve had two songs released this year.

But so many people on here let their hype run away with them. Comparing a thing from 80s rockers to their heyday is a recipe for disappointment.

I wonder… If it’s true that the beginning is "cut", I wonder which song could be preceding it and on what position will the song be (it’s definitely going on the album, right? Probably the same applies to Absurd, unfortunately). It could very well be number two (pun not intended). It’s sort of a kick-ass fast song, same as Shackler was, also No. 2. So why not, it would be cool.

I know its a sin to say this but this one needs a little more work  Could do something more with the intro (I liked the build up in the demo) and middle section.

The vocals are also too far back in the mix.

I don't think the way the drums kicks in necessarily means there was something before it. I think it just might be a cool little way to introduce the bass. If something preceded it, it would normally be cut in a way where that drum part doesn't bleed over, the bass would just start immediately. Who really knows though...

I, for one, am certainly not comparing to Appetite-nor the Illusions for that matter. Beyond a fool's errand that would be. I am looking for aural camaraderie from these guys. I wish wholeheartedly that they gutted it out, got together and tried their damndest to making something in the present. They already pissed away decades, the least they could do is attempt it. Maybe they did-only them and those close know.

It's not a bad song.

Illusions were great but there was some utter garbage on there too.

HardSkool is way better than My World/So Fine/Get in the Ring/Shotgun Blues etc.

Well, nice they actually releasing music. But the song doesn't fit a band in the mid-late 50's. Maybe 20 years ago but not now...

He was in his thirties when he sung it.

No sir, you cannot disrespect "so fine" like that.

So I’m listening on my phone with headphones currently..to me it seems the song is a lot louder when I click on an embedded YouTube link on this website or another than it does when I actually listen to the song on my YouTube app. Is that a thing?

Well what can I say other than this FUCKING ROCKS.   It is way better than the leaked version.   Slash is all over it and I love the way they’ve changed it up.

I like Absurd but this is a different level.  It’s a very catchy song and has definitely been worth the wait.

It redirects to Paul Tobias' mobile.

He was in Tesco when he answered and said he was a bit busy at the moment.

Maybe if you call, you can be directed to a version of Hard Skool where Paul Tobias plays a solo on top of all of Slash's solos? :P

I like the idea of an unaware Slash calling the number out of curiosity and being outraged when it's answered.
