Man, imagine being so invested in how something was made vs how it sounds. You must be fascinated by cheesecakes.

Another one.. I am done being nice to you pricks.. As I stated I am happy for anyone that likes something. I would never judge or criticize anyone for their opinion here.. I just speak for myself.. It is simple.. I hated Chinese Democracy... I hated Absurd.. I don't give to shits about Chinese Leaks.. I don't care about Slash and Duff playing CD songs live.. They songs still don't do it for me and this release doesn't excite me at all. All I did was ask if if sounded like they recorded it like a band.. If they actually put the effort in like a real band and recorded/reworked it all, I would have more interest.

Shaun Keavney on 6Music might play it. Steve Lamaq also perhaps. Planet Rock have now at least posted the release on their page so may be waiting until later before they play it? Christ knows though. I think the song has some radio potential. Which is more than can be said Absurd!

Shaun Kevney left a month or so ago!

I'd be amazed if it's played on that station. GNR are not the sort of thing they play in the slightest. They don't touch stuff like Iron Maiden, AC/DC, etc, unless it's as a one off novelty on a 'blast from the past thing'. They didn't play any of the new stuff from those sorts of bands - out of their remit I think.

I'd guess plays of any new stuff my old rockers is limited to the rock/oldies stations these days. Radio 2 might give it a spin on their rock show but I'd be amazed if it's playlisted anywhere that isn't specialist.

Not that it really matters anyway- the fans know where to find it, and GNR in 2021 are pretty unlikely to be winning over new fans I suppose!

Honestly, I hear you on this. I think a lot of people are just so excited that GN'R released something for once that they're initially shocked someone doesn't like it.

My thing is different strokes for different folks. There's no way everyone is gonna love it and I totally get where you're coming from on it.

This is why you are the man

hey, how many of you have called the 800 number shown on the locker for the hardschool music video on YouTube?

I can't make out the last 2 numbers.

I did this with a phone number I saw on the side of a van on one of Schwarzeneggers movies and surprisingly it was a working number where arnold answered the phone (recording obviously) for a cleaning service. lol

So after sitting on it for a day and listening to it more times than I care to mention, my only major gripe is the drum sound. It's absolutely lifeless.

Granted, that's kind of just the "go to" modern drum sound for most music these days but it's so stale in comparison to Absurd. I'm certain it's Frank on the track but even still, I like Frank. Once again, the mix just does him no favors. His natural drum sound is great as evidenced by the soundcheck clips from on stage so why they compress it to death is beyond me.

Also feel like the fade from the end of the first chorus to the second verse is a little clunky but otherwise I dig the mix overall. Feels like a Slash solo song. With '99 vocals, of course.

Poor post tbh.

There is a huge difference is a prime Axl releasing a double album with songs he's worked on over the last few years, to what is happening now.

He is creatively retired, and has clearly been advised to release 'new' music.

His response is to get his producer to snip his 20 year old vocals of 20 year old demos over some rife/solos from Slash.

He has even pasted parts of Eye on You onto it, rather than bother recording new screams.

He couldn't make this any clearer for you.  He is done.  They are just scraping together the last of the vault to get people to carry on buying tickets.

He is telling you all (without words) that you are not going to hear anything new.

Hey Axl.

Clearly it's you, as you are opening up in a very personal way including telling us all your inner thoughts and feelings over the last 20 years.

Oh wait, its a fan forum, comprising of people who have no actual knowledge of what's goes on in my head, an artists head or any other persons head for that matter.

Thats of course, unless you have superpowers to read people's minds.

Some of you make me wonder if we are in fact living within the Matrix.

Much better than Absurd. Not an amazing song, but a decent one, though. I'd level it with stuff like Get in the Ring, Shotgun Blues, the weaker Appetite tracks, etc..

I'd rank it above those.

Just wait until they drop Monstrocity and Soul Monster.

The new album can't come fast enough. I just hope the CD-era songs are not messed with as much as Hardschool was.

You honestly don't believe he's recorded vocals for those, surely?
