We will probably have to agree to disagree on that one. If it was intentional he would sing it that way live (out of sync) and verse 3 would be in the same place. It just sounds like sloppy mixing to me.

How would you go about singing it out of sync live? That's  literally impossible unless someone else is coming in over the top in that particular line. It was intentional. I can't believe people keep saying that part of Absurd is a mistake when all they had to do is copy and paste the final verse to "correct it." lol

But then why have verse 3 in what sounds like the correct place?? If it was intentional surely all 3 verses would be the same? It just sounds very odd the way it is now and if it was intentional I think it was a bad choice.

Always liked the song even from the leaks, but the copy/paste and 20+ year old vocals really don't sit right with me. 18mts in lockdown and Axl couldnt even be bothered to do a new vocal track.

Of all the ways we could've gotten new music, this has to be the least satisfying: CD leftovers that we've already heard even down to the vocal take.

Pure baffling.

I hope GNR really continue to support Hard Skool

Get an official video out, some live performances on late night shows, interviews etc.

Even add some new 'Hard Skool-ed'  US dates since the band seems State-bound until 2022.

I left of on page 40 before the weekend and don’t wanna scroll. Did we ever figure out who’s on drums and if fortus or bucket is on guitar at all?

Nothing is 100 percent confirmed but I think the general consensus (and my own view as well) is that it is Slash on all guitars and Frank on drums

Edit:  as @gunsguyposted below, it seems that Richard has confirmed he is on it - wanted to edit this post just to make sure that info is highlighted and known (my theory was not all correct it seems lol)

Is Frank on Drums? I thought it was the same take as the '99 leaks with Slash on Duff re-recording their parts.

It is the same vocal take but everything else instrumentally is different, including the drums

One of the reasons why, as opposed to Absurd which used Brain's existing drums for example, is the major arrangement changes done to HS.  New intro, extra solo breaks in between the choruses and the next verses, a completely new bridge, etc.

So no Fortus at all?  Seems weird.  And I think the verses could have used an extra guitar track...

That's cool to think it was a bad artistic choice. I have no idea why they did it this way. Maybe they liked the frenetic energy of it being slightly out of sync till the final repeated verse where it's "in sync" and "screaming" is clearly heard.

But seriously, to say it's a mistake is laughable. You think they all listened to this song and not one person noticed it? It's intentional.

Huh, well color me surprised!  I was wrong on that one it looks like, will totally admit that lol.  One thing is for sure, he does a great job at blending with Slash's sound in a way that is very nondescript.

Which I suppose bodes well in the long run, I like all the guitar parts on HS and they all sound cohesive as opposed to two lead players going at it so Fortus did a good job with that

So is he the left channel then? Because the tone and overall playing sound more like Slash to me. I'll have to listen again with headphones.

Yep, it’s absolutely a mistake
