I'm referring to anyone expecting completed vocals for anything other than Atlas, Perhaps, OMG or The General.

back at it huh?

My guess is you don't know jackshit.

My guess is know one here, myself included really knows shit.

None of you "insiders", "I'm not an insider, but here's what they'll do" and "trolls (I'm not saying pele, but it's pele" guessed that Absurd was coming until a setlist leaked, which most of you called BS.

Exactly, had anyone predicted Silkworms, they'd have some credibility now; otherwise, it's just guesswork and claims, i.e. business as usual.

Don't 'insiders' usually claim they've heard unreleased songs?

I haven't.  Because I'm not.

You might be right about that, but I wouldn't be the one who chickens out of it. If you think we should lower the bet or something, I'm fine with that.

I see what you're saying and we can refine the bet for sure. Blood in the Water was a weird remix of the song Prostitute. We can agree that new versions of previously released songs don't count and cover songs don't count either.

So how does this bet sound:

If GNR releases a song other than Atlas Shrugged, Perhaps, The General, Soulmonster/Monstrosity or Tonto that has full vocals by Axl recorded after 1999 and is not a cover or a new version of a previously released song, then you will to pay me 5000$. If no such song will be released within the next ten years, I'll pay you 5000$.

How does that bet sound like?

Why does your bet have a time frame of ten years?! 🤣

You’re obviously not THAT confident about Axl releasing any ‘new’ material any time soon yourself!

I know!

Imagine thinking you're winning an argument against a guy who doesn't think Axl is writing/recording songs when your winning terms are 'he needs to release something in a DECADE from now'!

Bare in mind, he hasn't released anything for 12 years (not counting the EP as his work was already done).

I say he's done nothing since the release of Chinese Democracy, and this guy wants a 22 year window to prove me wrong!

I'm confident that GNR will release new material in the next ten years. I never said that I'm confident that they will release new material soon.

This is not complicated. What I say is what I mean. There's nothing else to it. 🥱

I wanted to see if you're confident enough in your arguments to make the bet. You agreed to the bet and I respect you for that. The next ten years will show who wins the bet and I don't know why you're acting so bitter about it.

Come on though man, that bet is rather ABSURD. Betting that GNR will put out new material by the year 2031?! Imagine if that was the actual year they put it out too lol. 23 years after ‘Chinese Democracy’ was released 🤦🏼‍♂️

I’m with Pele on this one, I don’t think Axl has recorded any new vocals for GNR material since the release of CD in 2008 (at the latest). I really would love to be proven wrong (not enough to make a ten year bet mind you) but I think if anything, we’ll likely see a couple more stand alone singles (Atlas & Perhaps) and this will be the farewell tour. Axl’s voice, sadly, is shot to shit. I can’t see him touring for much longer or getting in a vocal booth at this late stage in his career. All good things come to an end eventually though, nothing lasts forever.

But that is not Pele's claim. Pele says that Axl hasn't recorded any vocals since 1999 that we haven't heard. All that he has recorded since then either ended up on CD or songs that happen to have been leaked (like the general).

He could be right about that too, we don’t know anything for sure. I certainly don’t think it’s as ridiculous of a claim as some here are making out though. If he had lots of unheard vocal tracks from the 2000’s ready to go, vocals that HADN’T already leaked, one does have to wonder why on earth he’d choose to release ‘Silkworms’ (with the ‘99 vocal) as the ‘reunion comeback single’?!

The fact that this was followed up with the previously leaked ‘Hard Skool’ (again with the ‘99 vocal) does make me question how much ‘unheard Axl’ is actually in the vault and how much is just instrumental. It appears that the other guys in the band were more productive in the studio than Axl was back then, which also seems to be the case now unfortunately.

I don't think anyone is arguing he can't be right. Personally, I find it unlikely, but it is theoretically possible. There are people here with crazier opinions than him. Most people's problem with him is not what he is saying, but how he says it and how often.

But that is not Pele's claim. Pele says that Axl hasn't recorded any vocals since 1999 that we haven't heard. All that he has recorded since then either ended up on CD or songs that happen to have been leaked (like the general).

I've repeatedly said that not my claim.

I've said over and over that he worked on vocals 05-07, and likely recorded Better, General, Shacklers, Scraped etc.

I couldn't have made it any clearer tbh
