Yeah I assumed it was mentioned that Axl said he liked duff's backing but it doesn't really sound like him tbh. Sounds like Axl. Edit: Actually I just isolated the vocals and I'm pretty sure it's Duff. Edited January 24, 2022 by Jw224

Tom2112
Lots of bits, especially on Chinese. I love the nod to queen on right next door the hell. Love the panned guitars in the Anything goes solo. To name two off the top of my head

Good one! I always enjoyed that too, I remember that the initial leak of it didn't have that effect it just played as normal, and I loved that addition to the album version Speaking of If The World, the intro with the addition of the acoustic guitar strums is great too
WhazUp
A lot of great ones mentioned here! It is fun reading what everyone is coming up with, in retrospect it is all the subtle things like these that made me love GNR in the first place One additional one for me, the "dolphin" guitar sounds right before the 2nd solo in Estranged are amazingly phrased and very ambient and vibey. Not much in terms of sound design beyond Slash's control of his volume knob swells and perhaps some reverb in post, but it really gives that part a very other-worldly vibe Edited January 23, 2022 by WhazUp 2
Ixtlan
Whatever Axl says at the beginning of Human Being. I also like all the different vocal inflections on Shotgun Blues.
Arnuld
That little wind sound effect after the guitar solo on This I Love. Such a subtle little genius touch.
Arnuld
The Disco beat in Oh my God that gives it a I was made for loving you vibe. Axl and Izzy’s doubled vocals on You ain’t the first along with transition to Axl’s super deep vocal near the end.

Jwalker19
Something I always loved was the outro on Prostitute with the synth and piano. Really beautiful way to end the album and always gives me that "it's finally fucking finished after all these years" vibe. 1

DownUnderScott
I think it has already been mentioned, but the antique synthesizer on Paradise City and the whislte is pure Axl genius.

Gackt
The mix is rough, but Robin & Bucket's guitar solos in Hardschool are so good, especially when the bridge between the last two chorus sections hit.
ryanf23
Civil war when duffs vocals join in on “peace could last forever” the end of Locomotive when Axl sings “loves so strange “ over and over the harmonica part (maybe it’s a different instrument) during Anything Goes emulating sex (in and out)

Irish Rose
The breakdown after the solo in SCOM is full of little treats from Slash doing a quick palm muted scratch to Adler immediately following up with the cowbell

The piano, the driving drum beat, the ambient wah pedal stuff Slash is busting out a bit lower in the mix while Axl's vocals are on top, etc. 4

GNR were sued by a guy called Ulrich Schnauss for a sample GNR used on Riad. When I listened to Ulrich Schnauss music a lot of it is like the outro to prostitute. Worth a listen!
