The mix is loud and clear; I can hear every instrument clearly Idk, the guitars are super mid forward and nasally, boxy/honky. Drums sound a little weird, the kick is a bit metal clicky which doesn’t quite fit. Axl’s vocal is a bit buried. However, I got damn adore the bass tone. I would love for them to work with Eric Valentine. He did Apocalyptic Love and I think that is the best sounding record Slash has been a part of post-2000. Just big, powerful, but natural. Invented the sound of modern heavy music. 70% of big time metal mixers these days trace back to the Sneap forum.
Voodoochild
I don’t believe Caram should be blamed for everything. Axl was the main producer. It was always about his decisions. And I really don’t want a live sound for a new record. The band already have plenty of live releases and they all sound shitty. Yeah, even the not-so Live Era and Lies. Jw224
The sound quality of the ep is kinda disappointing. CD whilst strange sounding when it came to mixing was rather hi fidelity.
lost un the jungle
Caram will produce it, no doubt
oneway23
The time frame between Axl recording his vocals for Hard School and Hard School's eventually release is longer than the time between John Lennon recording his demo for Free as a Bird and the Beatles releasing it on Anthology..Let that sink in. Anyone who thinks that same individual is going in a studio and doing an album cut live to tape like Slash's new one is a whack job. 1
