They're playing the arena over here in the fall, must be doing something right

I was very surprised to see they're playing the arena in Vancouver. But when I found out the upper bowl is sectioned off and there's still tons of tickets available, I was less surprised.

On topic... no. GVF are just bad. And the question itself is weird - I saw Ayron Jones and Royal Blood open for GNR a few years ago, but that doesn't make them some of the best new rock bands?

I see that GVF have been opening for Metallica. Does that mean they are the best rock band to come around in a few decades?

Pretty far-fetched to say that because Greta Van Fleet open for Metallica, it makes them the best rock band. Unless of course you consider Metallica to be the best rock band, but then we might have a problem if you think that...

IMO, I think Greta Van Fleet are one of the best rock bands of the 2010's / 2020's, and one of my personal favourites. I pretty much grew up on the Led Zeppelin, Who, Aerosmith 70's music, and so I enjoy this kind of music. But, obviously, bands like Royal Blood, Dirty Honey, Mammoth WVH and Rival Sons are also incredible rock bands.

All in all, I think GVF are a good band, and I like the music they play.

It’s sort of cool to hate GVF because they’re considered to be a complete ripoff of Zeppelin. And it isn’t like they try to hide it. In saying that, I don’t hate GVF, but I’ve also never been a Zeppelin fan. I don’t listen to either.

The bloom is maybe off the rose a bit on Greta. They were hailed as rock saviors when they first broke out. The boomer generation started saying shit like “finally, new music that’s good.”

can't get past the singer's voice. It's not pleasant to the ear. Even Myles is better. Also, they didn't own it when it came to the obvious Zeppelin influence and they come off as full of themselves in interviews. Other than the singer, the band members do have potential imo, but their music sounds like they are staying very close to tried and true formulas instead of combining a few different influences at least which makes shit sounds fresh imo. Their hippy image is also not very appealing to me.

No they aren’t. I’m a big zeppelin fan and yes I realise that modern bands take influence and style themselves after the bands they grew up on, but most do it in a subtle way, but to me GVF are a bit on the nose with it which is a bit off putting.
