I never understood why Shotgun Blues gets so much hate - Get In The Ring is clearly the major dud on UYI2 (not including My World).

Neither song is great lyrically, but Get In the Ring is much more interesting than Shotgun Blues is from a musical standpoint.

Anything remotely musically interesting happening on GITR is ruined by Axl's juvenile faux-tough guy ramblings, the stupid chanting and Duff's smug spoken bits. The whole song is just shite with no redeeming features but probably gave Izzy a chuckle.

There's some nice guitar work on GITR throughout.

Get In The Ring is great! One of the songs that got me into GnR. As a 12 year old the sweary bit was the best thing ever.

Some people look at it the same way as laughing at fashion fads from 30 years ago (e.g. Axl's bike shorts). What they don't realize is that one day they'll be laughed at too.

Yeah, maybe. But I don't rank it higher than most of the other songs. To much of a Country feeling to my ears and the best part of it, the outro, is overdubbed with Axl's nonsense.

Definitely Get in the Ring for me. In high school I used to to listen to Shotgun Blues every morning so I got a nostalgic love for that song

I always saw Breakdown as a filler. Some nice parts but a very weak chorus und overall pretty forgetable.

I would rate any song from UYI I higher.

Absolutely not. It's one of Axl Rose's crowning achievements as a songwriter imo.

The verse is where it's at with Breakdown, especially after the solo with Slash adding those sweeping lead flourishes. I'm off to listen to Breakdown now....

I'm listening to Breakdown on my way to work right now.

I have to inform you that I was right, it's definately  one of the weaker songs.

The verses are lame and too long, the refrain is almost cringy with that old pervy voice (Let me hear you now!) and it's basically going nowhere.

Ya'll can correct your mistake and vote for Breakdown in the next round, thank you.
