Popular Post We love Axl Rose
May 22, 1992 - Budapest, Hungary Notes: It rained throughout the show. Before 'Mr. Brownstone,' Axl says, "Fuckin' Budapest! I could have never believed or imagined I would get to play Budapest... but I am very happy to be here tonight." After 'You Could Be Mine,' GN'R performed a famous Hungarian folk song, 'Tavaszi Szél Vizet Araszt.' The English traslation is 'Spring Wind.' Axl sang the first two verses, letting the crowd sing the third. The inspiration to play this song came from Queen playing it at this same venue in 1986. For whatever reason, the band did not perform any solos at this show. May 22, 1993 - Tel Aviv, Israel Notes: GN'R embark on the Holy Land. Izzy returns to the band for the first of five dates. Gilby had broken his wrist in a motorcycle accident so a replacement was needed. During the show, the band played a short version of a famous Hebrew song "Hava Nagila." EDIT: May 22, 2016 - Prague, Czech Republic (AC/DC) Notes: Axl is with AC/DC in Prague, the Czech Republic for a show at Letnany Airport. The song Touch Too Much is performed for the first time since December 14, 1979. Edited May 23, 2022 by We love Axl Rose 5

As far as I know, some of the licks on TWAT and Madagascar demos from 2000s are his ideas. Not very well executed at all, albeit some of the small tidbits made it to TWAT's final version, even though very drowned on the mix (a small bend before Robin's solo, and some high notes when the backing vocals starts after that solo. Maybe the very ending too, with some high bends). I have no real reason to say that's Axl, but the way its played is very odd, but not at all Robin's style, and it was before Bucket.

Didn't know about this. I want to say as Chinese Democracy got rolling and he had a solidified lineup he stopped playing and deferred to the other guys in the lineup. He was still playing stuff on guitar as reference to the other members towards the very end of 2000 which is referenced in this article. Madagascar is mentioned. https://www.loudersound.com/features/a-rare-glimpse-into-the-mundane-world-of-axl-rose Edited May 23, 2022 by mystery

May 23, 1988 - Winnipeg, Canada Notes: After 'It's So Easy,' Axl mentions they haven't been to Winnipeg in 8 months when they were touring with The Cult. Great surprise performance of Nazareth's "Hair Of The Dog." The band had seen a Nazareth concert the night before this show. Axl dedicates the song to their 20th anniversary, he adds that he hopes GN'R can last half that long! But Madagascar part he played at the RIR 2001 was just some power chords during Bucket's solo. What I said about the demo was more like small lead parts that later were replaced by Robin, with similar concept.

It's kind of the same, it's something called Bad Obsession." Before 'Double Talkin' Jive,' Axl explains how he injured his foot and how his doctors helped him out. We love Axl Rose
Remembering West Arkeen, who died on this day in 1997. Aaron West Arkeen (June 18, 1960 – May 30, 1997), was an American musician best known for co-writing several Guns N' Roses songs. He died in Los Angeles as a result of a drug overdose. Though never a member of the band, the group's vocalist Axl Rose considered adding him as a third guitarist, primarily for his prolific songwriting abilities.
