Next Tour - Is This Their Last Run?

Recommended Posts

When it’s the last tour, you’ll see it shouted from the rooftops. The band will acknowledge it everywhere imaginable. Last tours sell an insane amount of money, something Guns is rumored to like. It’s not unreasonable to think Guns has less than 5 years left but when it’s over you’ll know.

They make so much money Kiss has done 3 or 4 final tours

I don’t believe they know when their last tour will happen. They will tour until Axl flips. I have a feeling that will happen sooner than later. At some point Axl and Slash will have another falling out, mark my words.

Yep. It will happen in 2037 when Slash goes on tour with the hologram of Michael Jackson.

Bad memories right there…. This lineup will then split and Axl will get back to work “finishing” CD 2.

This would make sense, but it also wouldn't really be surprising if they just keep touring for a few more years, maybe do some residencies, then just resume the radio silence of not being on tour. No official announcements or anything. I can't see Axl performing as a solo act so I'm not sure he'd totally close the door on GNR shows with a 'final tour'.

I don't see how there could be another falling out or at least not one to the level of the first one. Slash seems fine touring and it's making him the most money he's probably ever made. If Axl says no music or they're done he simply shrugs his shoulders and plays with his other band and projects.

History tends to repeat itself. Axl and Slash don’t have to split over any previous emotional turmoil. I think at some point Slash will get tired of walking on eggshells.

This may be brought on by lack of cooperation with the rest of the band. Slash may choose to be the mouthpiece for the band and it may rub Axl the wrong way. At which point he will decide to end it.

I can’t imagine that the current situation doesn’t burn him up inside. At some point even the money may not be enough for him to keep from holding back his feelings.

He must have known in 2015/16 he was joining Axl's band, it is what it is. None of the band members will make as much money outside GNR so there's no reason to rock the boat at this point in their careers.

Best case scenario for GNR music is Slash doing another album with guest singers, with 1-2 songs featuring Axl and Duff.

Their last run was in 2021. In fact, European Tour 2022 won't happen due to war.

Bullshit. Apart from Ukraine and Russia Europe is completely safe to play. Even shows in Poland, Sweden and Finland are  possible. Even Russia would be safe but obviously nobody is gonna play shows there for the next couple of years at least

I read an interview with Slash somewhere online (guitar mag?) where he basically says, it's working because nobody is taking GnR too seriously these days.

I think this is true. Last time around they were young and fame, image, band politics, personal politics and relationships all really mattered. As it tends to when you're young. As long as everyone shows up and does their job I'm not sure what would be worth falling out over this time around. They don't all hang out together like buddies anymore, in fact there is very little evidence they socialise at all outside of rehearsals and shows.

When the reunion kicked off the biggest risk was lack of professionalism from Axl but he seems to have conquered that demon. I don't see Slash leaving again for any other reason. He might get privately frustrated at the lack of album but I'm not expecting him to leave over it. He might have done if the reunion happened 15 years back but now he'll just put his energy into solo music instead.

I kinda hope it is their last run, Axl just doesn’t have the vocal chops anymore or at least doesn’t care. When I saw meatloaf back in about 2014 people around us were literally leaving a few songs in, his vocals were completely shot, although that’s unlikely to happen to GnR as slash is a huge attraction too but I’d rather them not become an embarrassment.

I’d like to see them drop a killer double album and go out with a bang sooner than later.

Guys and girls,

If you want to discuss the situation in Ukraine and what it means for the rest of Europe, please do so in this thread:

Please refrain from discussing politics in this thread.

What feelings is he hiding? he has his creative side with SMKC and he also gets to play massive stadium shows for millions of dollars with guns. he probably loves it that way. He's the bigger draw than axl these days, in celebrity status and industry respect wise.
