I was at london both nights and I can testify he was much worse London night 2 than this.

I’m actually loving watching this performance. Sure the vocal isn’t his best but he’s giving it his all and the band sound amazing.

You know the guy is 60. You can’t turn the clock back. In comparison to some other singers (Jon Bon Jovi for example) he’s actually fairing pretty well.

When you’re in your 20’s and doing weird & wonderful things with your voice..you’re not thinking “how will I do this when I’m drawing out my pension”.

His voice is still there at points. Let’s just hope we get more studio work at some point.

To critique him after every show is a waste of time.

I don’t critique after every show, I just saw this a low point vis-a-vis his voice. I’m still a fan and would still pay to watch them anywhere.

Most reviews in Brazilian media, as far as I can tell (with the help of auto translation), have been negative about the RIR show, (although some acknowledge Axl's effort and stage presence):

True, but it is the worst.

I don't know why they don't at least make Selects with performances like these...

Absolutely killer. To know they have this stuff and get little drip feeds every so often is ‘annoying’.

One of the biggest tours ever and no official release on traditional media…..bloody GNR. 🤦‍♂️🤣

Playing in Rio, and specially at this festival, is something really important to him. I'm not saying this because I'm from Rio (I fucking HATE this damn city) but I've watched Axl perform in 7 different states in Brazil and none of them holds a candle compared to how Axl goes on the stage when performing in Rio. It's just different, hard to explain, you have to experience it here to compare to other places.

When he walked on stage tonight I felt it in his eyes he was like "I can't fuck this shit up, must give my 110%". He was on game face mode for almost the whole show. At the end of paradise city he had a smirk on his face as if he was thinking "yeah, I still got it". I was there front row at rock in Rio '11 and '17. I could tell Axl wasn't happy with what he was giving. Tonight it felt different - even though I was at home this time.

A guns n roses show in Rio is just different. Even for Axl. And getting a tweet such as that from him like an hour after the gig's done just confirms this for me.

Call me a hopeless romantic, I don't care.  😂

Nice one mate! And thank you for sharing your experiences...

I'm sure these artists have their favourite places to play around the world, they are only human after all. It would be awesome to see them play there.

Your'e very lucky.
