This guy is such a mistery. I don't think it's a mystery. Fact is that he doesn't take care of his voice as he should to be able to sing at the high level he set for his career. I'm a singer too and also a teacher. My voice is my instrument of work. And it's such a fragile instrument. A night slept badly, the smallest cold, something you ate... The minimal things can have a great effect on how your voice works - to the point you can easily lose control over it. And being on tour is always harder on the singer. And how do you work around that? It's very, VERY, important to have a speech coach working with you all the time, I'm not taking about a singing teacher/coach. I mean an actual doctor specialized on how the voice works. Every singer needs this professional with them 24/7 specially on tour. And I don't think Axl (and 90% of the singers out there) have that kind of medical support around when their voices are ok. But when things go sour they don't walk to these professionals... They run. So I think it's important not only for Axl, but to all of those guys from his age to have this type of care with them all the time to help them understanding how their instrument works, because their instrument is their actual bodies, so that they can be able to put on a high level performance even in a bad day. Putting on a good show, for a singer, is a lot more than just a good night of sleep and a couple of warm up exercises before the gig. And last night Axl put on A HELL OF A SHOW! Our old man sang his ass off and it was something beautiful to see. It was like one of the best vocal performances since 2016. At least for my perspective. 5
ChristianGNR
Exactly. Also, YouTube videos are reflecting what you are saying, @Pinball Wizard. It was a great perfomance considering his current level and even 2018-2022 standards.

I just woke up, it was a round trip for me, from the airport to the venue and back to the airport, no hotel or anything... and I'm too old for this stuff 😂 Still recovering here! 😂

So try some pretty tied up or something from the options setlist! 😂 And you're right: the audience in Argentina is UNBEATABLE! You guys are just insane! Tucknroll
All that vocal coach stuff is a load of BS. Did he have a coach in the club days? All it is , is these singers are older and used to chain smoke and drink booze.

Did he have a coach in the club days? All it is , is these singers are older and used to chain smoke and drink booze. Remember when you were 5 years old and could run really fast, recover your breath in a heartbeat and your knees wouldn't ache like hell? Same thing, buddy. I can't run like I used to without having my knees screaming at me asking "are we a joke to you?" Don't know how old you are, but you just can't compare how somebody in their 20's used to use their voice recklessly without any short term consequences. On the long run the bill will come, and it often comes really high. When I brought up the vocal coach thing (and just to reinforce, I meant A DOCTOR and NOT a singing teacher) I meant having this person guiding the singer into learning how the voice works, how that specific singer's voice works, and what is the best way to physically use those muscles in order to get the best vocal performance possible using what you have at the moment - and then manage to expand the lifespan of that voice for years to come in a healthy way. A MEDICAL vocal coach is far from being BS. I've been a teacher for 17 years. When I was 18/19/20 years old I had NO PROBLEM lecturing classes to 40+ teenage students 6 times a day, 5 days a week without a microphone. At the end of the week my voice was fine. I could easily go to my band's rehearsals/concerts and sing my ass off even while drinking. All I needed back then was a night of sleep and I was good to go. But I'm over 30 now, my body doesn't function as it used to back then. And I'll tell you something: if it weren't for my medical vocal coach guiding me I wouldn't be able to teach nor sing with my band properly. Even still drinking and smoking. It's far from being BS. Tucknroll
I’m kinda saying the same thing in a way. I’m saying no matter what he’ll never sound like he used to is all. It won’t get better. Maybe something like that will help him be able to still talk but singing like he used to is over. We just go to reminisce which is fine

But my point was that a medical vocal coach ain't BS and that even for his someone his age this aid could really help him out and, if done with a good professional and him following the instructions as given, he could actually even improve his voice. Improve to a point of getting back to what it used to be like in the 80's? Hell no. But this could make him sound like 2006 or even during his run on acdc. I have no doubts about that. I have the help of an amazing medical vocal coach who is also a singing teacher, so she doesn't only know about how the vocal track works in general (speaking voice) but she also knows how the singing voice works too (which is a totally different beast). It works wonders if the patient has the discipline to follow through all the instructions and routines.

Sayin that his voice won't come back is not accurate, also.

Maybe he’s just too reckless and feeling no pain and etc 😅
