So as we've already heard, GNR apparently are heavily rumoured to play glastonbury next year (https://www.somersetlive.co.uk/whats-on/music-nightlife/glastonbury-2023-line-up-headliners-7697791)

The ticket sales for the festival start on nov 3rd. Surely they will be announcing at least some of their headliners by then, right?

Download wouldn't surprise me either being the 20th anniversary of it

Agree but think it'll be Glasto (if any). Rumours for Download are Metallica for 2 nights. Motley/Def Leppard was one of my other guesses but they just released their tour dates for 2023 and there's no room.

No, ticket sales can and probably will go ahead without any confirmed headliners.

There's a rumour every year that they're going to play my hometown here in Germany, but their booking management says that the football stadium is too small for them (which is part of the reason why the city tried to chop down over hundred trees on a parking lot to create some kind of festival ground, which was protested against heavily and never happened, which for example led to Ed Sheeran playing in a different town as well) and they won't do two nights in a row (the last time this came up).

But Axl played here with AC/DC back then, so maybe there's still hope.

Where are you hearing those rumours? RP?

This and there's always office talk about the negotiations between the city and it's cultural department and the local football club regarding the booking of the stadium. I work for the cultural department (on a different floor so to say), so there's always hearsay going 'round.

Let me know when you start hearing anything regarding D'Dorf (my hometown too btw)

I actually wouldn’t mind a US run, maybe they can open with the instrumental from The General like they were a decade ago, or, perhaps play the song in its entirety…!!!?

I’m sure they will play at least a few shows in the States hopefully. The last Indy show rocked.

Considering the venues in the US got smaller on the last leg, i think an euro run is more likely. They've "only" been here 3 times since the reunion and can still easily fill the big stadiums, especially since they have skipped many countries on each leg.

Werd' ich machen!

So far there's been nothing too specific regarding GNR, just some bigger time slots in the booking of the stadium which are still tba so to say and the usual "Maybe this time?" by some other fans in the office. I heard something about Coldplay but as soon as I heard that I left the convo.

Nah, Glastonbury doesn't do lineup before tickets. They release the full lineup around April.

Glasto isn't announced till march time. tickets go on sale first, sell out in minutes. then in march they announce the headliners and the bill and people can do a ticket exchange with other glasto members. Would be surprised, as Glasto wont pay more than £1.5m to headline acts. GnR got £5m for download festival. So they'd be doing it for the heritage of the festival rather than money. which doesnt sound like modern GnR

From an insider I heard it WAS metallica slipknot Metallica Rage aginst the machine for download. Apparently rage are cancelling all tours coz of zaks injury so it could be bring me the  horizon replacement.
