Allegedly, when they tried to search his bags, he yelled 'you are all just little people on a power trip. I'll punch your lights out right here right now!' (Source - smokinggun.com) Imagine if he knew how things were going to be post-TSA. 1 Quote

But if you want to be technical, the bigger act is closing each night: Guns, AC/DC and Metallica. What’s funny is that GnR once opened for Iron Maiden, and now it’s the other way around. 1 Quote

Majestic Beast Posted March 30, 2023 Posted March 30, 2023 Both Dickinson and Hetfield,HATE Axl Rose, from early years, but they suck too badly nowdays. 2 Quote
allwaystired Posted March 30, 2023 Posted March 30, 2023 Weird event. I'm surprised Iron Maiden are playing with GNR (I'm sure the former have been very vocal in the past about their dislike of them?) I also thought Ozzy was done with playing live? I know he cancelled his tour. Also......I thought AC/DC were done as a live band? Quote

Stress Fracture Posted March 31, 2023 Posted March 31, 2023 I doubt that whatever trivial beef Axl and Bruce Dickinson had in the past carries over 2023. You could probably have Motley Crue playing with GNR today. 3 Quote

These are all grown men now in their 50s, 60s, 70s and they are all doing what they enjoy doing and making tonnes of money on top of it, things that happened over 30 years ago now aren't going to occupy large parts of their brains and emotions at this stage I would imagine it's all water under the bridge by this point. 3 Quote
JimiRose Posted March 31, 2023 Posted March 31, 2023 (edited) 10 years ago this would have been phenomenal. Axl could still sing like a beast and move, dickinson could still sing like a beast. Malcom was still alive and brian johnson wasnt deaf. Metallica were on fire. Ozzy wasnt singing in a wheelchair with parkinsons. Tool are probably just as good now as they were 10 years ago tbf. I guess it's like a final farwell to these once great bands. a thank you and the last chance to ever see them play together again from the greats. Most performances will suck - minus the nostalgia element, but that's all people really need. It'll defintely be a huge success no matter what the bands play like so fair play to them for giving the fans the chance to experience it. Even if it is starting at $600 plus accommodation and travel on top Edited March 31, 2023 by JimiRose 1 Quote

It'll defintely be a huge success no matter what the bands play like so fair play to them for giving the fans the chance to experience it. Even if it is starting at $500 plus accommodation and travel on top TBH, I think this would have been less special 10 years ago than it is now. GnR was in the same state 10 years ago as it currently is in now, but it had freaking DJ Ashba and the NuGang. And Axl was only slightly better vocal-wise. Same with Metallica. They would have been in the limbo between Death Magnetic and Hardwired, when they released the dreadful Lords of Summer. Malcolm was still alive, yes. That's a plus indeed. But the fact AC/DC is practically done touring now and this is an unique opportunity to see them makes it more special to me. Ozzy with parkinsons is really sad, and it would be much better to see him standing up, like in the Black Sabbath farewell tour, but it's also pretty emotional to give the greatest frontman in history a last goodbye. I'd cry my ass off the whole show. Tool now have the songs off Fear Inoculum to add to the setlist. I know it's not their strongest effort but if you've seen them live before, at least it's something fresh. Bruce Dickinson's vocals have gotten much weaker during the last decade, after his battle with cancer. And in 2013 they would have been touring the Maiden England Tour. That was THE best tour to go to. This one I agree on, no questions asked. I think festival organisers and everyone who makes money off of this industry better start moving their asses to create new arena headliners. Most of the rock acts nowadays aren't too aligned with the festival culture and/or are still too underground for me to see them replacing these huge names. This industry is gonna be in pretty big trouble soon. Edited March 31, 2023 by Cosmo 3 Quote

He still had some power after that but switched to the safe clean voice for most of the time. The difference between the last 2010 show and the first 2011 was palpable, and not just because of Rio. He did come back in 2016, though, even if just for the year. 2 Quote
