dontdamnmeuyi2015 Posted April 1, 2023 Share Posted April 1, 2023 My brother has been in many local Dallas bands over the years. He's the drummer and back up singer. Anyway he recently was playing with a band that mixed alternative and sometimes rock country. He's also back to playing rock with another friend and they write and perform their own songs. Anyway, the lead singer of the alternative band committed suicide a few weeks ago. Very sad to all of us. My mom met him and said he was such a nice young man. We were all shocked by this. He's suffered from mental illness for years but refused to get help. Last night the band members and family and friends had a special memorial for him. The band members sang songs that he loved and everyone gathered to celebrate his life. He's left behind a wife and a little baby girl as well as his mom and many friends. I know we all get caught up in our own lives and something like this makes you stop and think how others are suffering and we don't see it. I hope he's at peace now.
