The songs made zero impact. They get no airplay, they get polite applause at shows, they're objectively mediocre songs in GNR's catalogue. Cool that you like them, the vast majority of crowds don't give a shit.

But you could say the same thing about some of their best songs; Coma, Locomotive, Don't Damn Me, etc. No airplay, polite applause at shows, majority of crowd doesn't give a shit.

I kinda stopped posting on the board. I have other things to be concerned about than having people being negative regarding GNR. I still come here to read the comments and any news regarding the tour.

Those weren't singles and were rarely/never played live. Obviously they won't get radio play, being long and/or explicit. Coma did get a good reaction when the heartbeat started, at least when I saw them in 2016. Estranged always gets a pop from the crowd, even Bad Obsession got a good response when I saw it last year.

The NITL singles haven't moved the needle at all. I like Perhaps, but it doesn't matter what you or I think, the [lack of] reactions speak for themselves.

Does anyone think the following tours (a few for example) were attended because they were behind a new record?

Rush- Snakes and Arrows, Clockwork Angels

AC/DC- Black Ice, Rock or Bust

Van Halen- A Different Kind of Truth

Black Sabbath- 13

The Rolling Stones- Hackney Diamonds

Etc, etc

Id say most definitely, Sabbath had been touring “the hits” for years and while it was great to catch those gigs it was even better as a fan to hear new Material, The recent Stones tour was more exciting than the last 5-6 tours they’ve done also because there was new material, Black Ice was a great album after what felt like a longish break and what an opener rock n roll train was!! Yeah new Material is always gonna draw folks in.

I disagree that the new music led to much bigger draws, but I agree that I like a lot of the newer material that was done on these tours.

13 was Sabbaths first tour in around 7 years too. I LOVE Hackney Diamonds and agree it’s great those songs were played, but the Stones will always sell. Same with AC/DC. I saw that tour, and agree, killer opener

wasn't talking about impact or airplay, those are not the factors in which you can decide if they are objectively mediocre. you can't be objective with such things.

for example I prefer HS to Scraped and I like Scraped as well and I don't give a shit what the vast majority of crowds thinks of the tunes either, so it all works out pretty well for everyone.

I like HS more than Scrapped as well. I don’t know if it tells more about the quality of HS or more about the quality of Scrapped, though 🤣

Not for legacy bands, but it does give them a good reason to tour. Believe me nobody was there to see rock n roll train.  99% or the audience was there for highway to hell, thunderstruck and black in black.  They would have been there whether rock n roll train existed or not.

not sure you understand ACDC fans. They know every song. Rock N Roll train is beloved. They're not quite as casual as GNR audience is today. Maybe not as fanatical as iron maiden, but in general most of the audience at an ACDC gig knows all the songs. Rock N Roll train got massive pops on that tour and every tour since

Count me as one of the ones who like HS more!  If Scraped maintained the same amount of energy it has in the last 20 seconds of the song I would really enjoy it but otherwise the song as-is just sounds kind of... just there.

I think it’s a bit weird that Slash said 2025 was all about Guns and still nothing announced. Tickets need time to sell.

At this point, I think a tour might start mid to late 25. And that would likely be US

I think it's probably that we're posting less as there isn't much going on, and the discussions tend to always be about the same stuff. Another tour isn't wildly exciting really to a lot of people at this stage.

I'd say it's actually quite impressive how much we're all still interested, given how many bands there are out there regularly pushing forwards and releasing new stuff. A hint of something new and everyone would flood back.

Duff said in an interview a couple of weeks ago that they were still "figuring it out".

"I mean, 2025's going to be Guns," [....] "That doesn't mean I don't stop recording in my studio here, but it's going to be a GN'R year. More to be revealed, but we're just figuring it out right now."

In an earlier interview, though, he said that he knew the tour dates.

If it's true Axl will be out with AC/DC maybe plans changed on the tour dates

Maybe they're figuring out how to tell us the tour dates...

When are they announcing the tour? Will it be North America summer tour, European fall arena tour?

Someone on this forum who claims to work for livenation says they won’t tour North America next year, and someone else from discord whom I trust says a friend of theirs spoke to Vanessa recently and she said the band would only be doing international shows next year, no USA.

As much as I would want to know potential dates and locations to start planning for next year - I also respect them not making folks buy tickets potentially 10 months in advance.  I'm "ok" paying for an August concert in May.

If they are only doing international dates next year - it would follow previous patterns.

Latest from the rumor mill. Take this with a very large grain of salt, since no one reputable has come forth with any info.

There was some discussion about a new concert being announced in Boise Idaho from a country music station: https://www.reddit.com/r/Boise/comments/1gtohgi/at_the_boise_state_basketball_game_today_they/

and some folks in the linked thread found a Facebook events page for a GNR concert in Boise, Idaho.

Again, It's probably a false alarm, considering an Outdoor show in April in Idaho, is probably not exactly ideal...
