AtariLegend
I'll probably watch this, but I've been down on everything involving Aliens since post Alien 3. 3 doesn't get alot of love, but at least it's - got a style/direction and is very 90s action. Resurrection does too a lesser extent, but feels like a Event Horizon mash up with a bad Criters Sequel. The Predator vs. Alien films were trash and Prometheus is among peak - trailer is better than film examples. Very uninteresting/goes more where original and the sequel is just bad. I think Alien movies have a worse hit rate than Terminator or Halloween films. Edited August 11 by AtariLegend

ZoSoRose
I saw it, last night, and I really liked it! It does not reinvent the wheel, and it’s a tad “Alien: The Force Awakens”, but overall, it is a very solid Alien movie. Amazing production values. The sets, special effects, and aesthetic was all ace. The action set pieces were pretty creative, too. Pleasantly surprised with this one. It has been a great past 12- months for science fiction with this, Dune 2, and Godzilla: Minus One
Oxford
It’s a good film. I really enjoyed it. But as a die hard fan of the first two, In my opinion, it’s not a good Alien film. I’d rate it below Alien 3 but above Resurrection and everything that came after. The cast are solid and the practical effects are really good. Theres a CGI effect that is glaringly a bit off, but you get accustomed to it. The end will be divisive and I wasn’t keen on that direction. But the film does hold your attention from start to finish. What was awful is the repetition of classic lines and some scenes from Alien and Aliens. The ‘get away from her you bitch line” took me out of the film and was totally unnecessary. 5/10 as an Alien film 7.5/10 as a standalone film. If you love the first two and dislike Prometheus and Covenant, then go in with low expectations. Edited August 17 by Oxford

rocknroll41
Just got back from the theater. Movie was awesome! kinda wish they woulda just used Michael Fassbender or some other living actor instead of Ian Holm, but it didn’t ruin the movie for me too much.
