Popular Post Gambit83
Mods - If this needs to be moved to another section, I apologize and please do so. -------------------------------------- This one-of-a-kind painting was created in 1993 by Guns N' Roses' very first manager Vicky Hamilton. After she was fired by Geffen Records, art was her therapy and hoped it would bring peace between her and Axl Rose. After 30 years, Vicky is finally willing to "let it go." The winning bid will also receive a signed copy of her book "Appetite For Dysfunction: A Cautionary Tale" and a personalized letter about her life at the time of the painting as well. Measurement: 2 foot wide (24 inches) and 3 foot tall (36 inches) on 2-inch stretcher boards. Acrylic on white gesso. To make a bid on this special item, please email TheAFDShow@gmail.com Bidding ends 8/26. ------------------------------------------ To be transparent, Vicky asked me to help her. Also, below is a new interview with Vicky about it in Loudwire. There's a lot of truth in what she says to that. 3 minutes ago, Blackstar said: She explains it in the Loudwire interview. Thanks I read it. Do we have the picture the photographer took that inspired her?

Sausagebrain
Looks like an early 90s advert for soda or a videogame. Edited August 16 by Sausagebrain
colonizedmind
It's not talentless or anything but not a great likeness for Axl. Hope Vicky gets some decent money for it though! Times are tough.

It's not about a style or any personal approach, this is a very amateur piece from someone with no skills nor knowledge.

It's mind boggling how loud that eruption was, it may be the loudest natural event in recorded history. I think it's better to view it as a charitable contribution and a piece of memorabilia rather than a true work of art. The auction description doesn’t present it as an art piece either. I hope she receives something that can help her in life.

Vicky had several names that went onto be big names, she was ready for the next step but the door got close in her face. Back in the 80's there were men's jobs and women's jobs in Hollywood, real boys club. Same thing was going on in cinema. I'm not sure if it's much better these days.

I also think that painting of Axl looks ugly. 💡☢️😵💫 Well, at least it's easy to tell that it's a painting of Axl. Some people would just draw a face with a bandana and try to pass it off as Axl but you can tell it's actually Axl she was painting. 💡 She just drew him ugly. 💡☢️😵💫
