Mendez
Looking for any info on Bucketheads tone relating to his GNR tenure. His tone, while always being sinilar throughout his entire career, seems to be nearly identical as his tone on "Bucketheadland 2" (comparing songs like The Corpse Plower and Frozen Brains Tell no Tales to his rhythm tone on Shacklers, Scraped, & If The World) Theres info on what he uses recently with regards to pickups (whatevers in his signature) and his amp (5150), but not much during the 1999-2003 years. James Bond
His signature uses a Gibson 500T pickup. Very hot ceramic pickup. But any high output pickup will get you in that ballpark. I had a Les Paul with one stock and it didn't sound all that much different than a DiMarzio Super Distortion to my ears. I think he was using Mesas before the current 5150s came along. He seems to go for a really nasal midrange tone.
