Popular Post gunsnchalupas
It's very hard to explain to my family and relatives how much Guns N' Roses message boards mean to me. I do have a bit obsession about this community, as prove this post - that I'm writing on a weekend night, after hours of reading different post about hair metal and whatnot. I have been lurking here for a decade now. I remember coming here after every big event, and not only related to Guns N' Roses, from 9/11 to more joyful events and what not. I discovered my favourite guitar player through the board - a player, DJ Ashba, I have now seen 7 different times in three different countries. I've met some people IRL that I first met here, online, that have become close friends, even. I almost lost a job because of GNR message boards - and even back, I kept going back. Because I have such a strong bond with this community, it's bigger than me. So this is why I decided to take a time to share one of my most personnal stories, that I have mostly only told to my first wife and my parents because of how unbelievable it seems - and because honestly, no one except real GNR nerds will truly appreciate. So here it goes : let's go back to December 23th, in the year of 1986. I just was kicked out of my hair metal band. This is where I first heard the name of Axl Rose - a person I couldnt believe would save my life, a few months later. I went back to my hometown, to meet with my girlfriend which I would end up marry for Christmas. I was driving through one of those exceptionnal snowstorm you would end up telling your kids about. I just had a freak injury, working in the shop, so I was driving my Toyota Camry with a arm in a plaster. It was a 8 hours road, through snow and hell, with only one functional arm! This was obviously very dangerous, but I was in a hard place in my life and I just really wanted to be with my girlfriend. So I drove until I got lost - and snowed in. I remember it being around 9 pm, only, and thinking it was a matter of time before another car would take the same winding road as me and help me out. Keep in mind this was mid 1980s. I didnt even had one of those bad car phones with bad reception. I was just sitting there, hoping for glowing lights to appear behind me. My mind was running wild - I kept thinking about my future, the dream I had to get signed with my hair metal band was all but lost. Between the band pratices, my bad grad at school, a girlfriend I would neglect... I got lost among my dream. Then the snow got thickier, thickier, and I had to get out every hour or so to make sure my Camry wouldnt get snowed-in. I had a fair amount of gaz left, but I thought... what if? What if no one pass by this road? What if I have to sleep here? Would I get frozen to death? Probably not, but I was starting to get scared. I couldnt start to walk anyway, because I was seriously lost, and I might have been miles away from the closest home. So I did what I had to do : I slept there. I took all the clothes I had in my luggage, made myself a nice bed, and prayed I wouldnt get frozen to death, and thinking my girlfriend would be worried sick. Just like in a horror movie, I was waken up by a loud banging on my window - giving me the scare of my life. And there was a young dude, besides his pickup. I checked time, it was a little bit past 6 a.m. Axl Rose was there, on his route to meet his bandmates. It's the band that he founded, and for which he'd ended up getting famous. My car was out of gaz - but I was so relieved to finally see someone. Axl picked me up, and we would do the road to the closest gaz station. Even at the times, he was already extremely beautiful, with his long red hair and his dreamy eyes. I remember thinking how nice he smelled, especially for someone who just drove a long night roadtrip. We discussed the previous year, in which we were both, in our bands, hoping to hear our name get called by the label. And then, he told me : '' Dont worry. Life will find a way to make you happy, just like I found you. '' He was so confident. You could tell by the time he was a future rockstar. I was a bit shy, to tell the truth. But he made me feel so comfortable. He's an easy talker, he had well thought opinions on everything. Keep in my mind, we were just entering the space with what would turn out to be the columbia fiasco, he was really informed about it. I was so enlighted. But one thing that made me doubt, is when I asked him about his future. He told me : I will make it as a rockstar. I will play on MTV. And I will become the first white rock musician.. I told him there was already plenty of white rock musicians, which is still mostly played only by caucasian musicians. He didnt seemed to mind. And at this point, neither did I. It was just one of those perfect moment. On the road back, I asked him to sign my plaster, which he did. But he didnt only signed his name, after dropping me by. He told me : ''For Guns N Chalupas. Just watch me, in a few years I will be known as the Dolphin to play on MTV. Axl'' I told him: there's a much better chance of that to happen, if you mean Dolphin the football team, and not the animal. And then he winked, and told me ''Sometimes, Life finds a way'' And he drove away. 5 1

Popular Post Rindmelon
The time I met gunsnchalupas in a 1986 snow storm. With regards to the above statement, agendaz and shall we say fantasy I think it is fair to say that memory's on said events differ to the extreme. The following exerptz of text are lifted directly from my statement to the police that night. On December the 19th 1986 I was planning on a long drive and set off on the 23rd. I had no intension of stopping at any point until a drunk man in lycra waved me down. Even in the snow I could tell that one of his arms was in a cast and so I did my christian duty and stopped to see if he was ok. He told me his name was gunsnchalupas & I think I responded 'oh wow rad name or something of that nature'.... He told me his car was round the corner and as he seemed distressed I elected to walk with him to it so he wasn't just stood in the road. He told me he had a Toyota Camry but when we got around the corner I could clearly see that it was a wheel barrow full of sex toys, I made sure to make a mental notice of this as it seemed a little......strange He claimed to be driving to meet his girlfriend, but when I asked to see a picture of her he showed me a polaroid of a balloon with a smiley face drawn on to it with a permanent marker... He turned to me and with unexpected tenderness informed me that soon a man would be born.... or more specifically a baby, a baby with guitar skills matched only by the fashion sense required to take me forward musically from 2009 to 2014. The baby would be called DJ, we would raise it together in a commune in the south of France. Fearing for my life slightly I tried to reason with logic that DJ was a stupid name, and that as neither of us currently possessed a womb procreation would be unlikely..... tbc........... or probably not 1 1

Mysteron
The only problem with your story is that Axl was at a release party for Live like a Suicide on that date, and had probably been drinking. Also, the weather was light rain, and not snow 1

I was not intending to insult the OP, just wanted to point out their strange story is likely the work of fiction, and the poor grammar reads a little like it came from someone who is not familiar with English.

gunsnchalupas
I must apologize. For the past three nights straight I had lucid dreams about past loves I had when I was a younger man. Cathartic, maybe? The dreams paralyzed me with a longing, nostalgia. Similar to the protagonist in this story, I felt trapped in a storm. This piece of fiction was my way of escaping the storm those feelings trapped me in. After spending hours in deep talk with both my wife, and my priest, they both felt that I should clarify, I never met Axl Rose in 1986. I thought it was evident that this story was a work of fiction, but I will admit that the rush of my online pals believing the lie that Axl told me he would become a Dolphin took me over. I became everything that I, and I assume Axl, hates, a liar. This is my promise to this message board, and to my wife, I will do better. I strive to avoid falsehoods in my future interactions on this message board, all 6 foot 2 inches of me. 1

Thank you for coming clean that you NEVER actually met Axl in 1986. 😇💡 Poster/Posters did point out inconsistencies even before you came clean, saying something like,"The night you spoke of in 1986 was light weather all day, no storm at all. " Axl didn't drive until after Appetite For Destruction." 💡 You're a good writer how ever, very entertaining and engaging..😇💡 Edited September 5 by Karice
