I'm Dutch and this was *HUGE* when I was like 11/12/13 years old. Shortly before I really discovered rock music. I had (and still might have) some of their singles in a box at my parents' house somewhere. And yeah, people on stage are just entertainers and it's a revolving door. It's always been about the production team (Jeroen Flamman and Jeff Porter). They also did some stuff under their own names, like Good To Go and I'll Be Your Only Friend. The guys from the videos were introduced in Technohead's 1995 hit I Wanna Be A Hippie, which Flamman and Abraxas were also involved in. I'm mostly just incredibly surprised anybody today (and especially from Scotland) has even heard of it. Edited November 6 by username 1 Quote

I Wanna Be A Hippie was a hit over here too, I remembered it from my childhood and that's actually what led me to finding Party Animals (and Flamman/Porter) a couple of months ago. Youtube autoplayed "Have You Ever Been Mellow" and I dug it so much that I stopped what I was doing in order to email myself a link to the song so I'd be able to find it again later lol. That led to me listening to their Greatest Hits which was just banger after banger Tried checking out some other gabber tunes but Flamman/Porter are in a league of their own really. Quote

I'm not really into anything harder than them, genre-wise. Thunderdome etc, that was never my scene. A few songs here and there. However, Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo had an awesome string of hits along those lines as well. Songs like Wonderful Days, Stars, Fantasy World, Together In Wonderland, Just Can't Get Enough, Party etc. Or maybe some hite by Paul Elstak like Rainbow In The Sky, The Promised Land, Luv U More... Oh, and also the Germans were good at this shit. I still like Dune with hits like Hardcore Vibes, Rainbow To The Stars, Hand In Hand, Million Miles From Home. This shit is my childhood and I'm only slightly ashamed to post this on a GnR forum. 1 Quote
willl Posted November 13 Posted November 13 Thanks @username, I'm gonna check out all of those artists/songs you listed tonight When I head to Holland for a rave I'll be dropping you a PM to join me Quote
username Posted November 14 Posted November 14 (edited) Just got tickets to see Christone "Kingfish" Ingram next February. I have a rather short must-see/never-seen list, but he was on it. This brings me to: 2025-01-09 - Alestorm, Ensiferum, Tyr, Heidevolk, Elvenking @ Paganfest, Oosterpoort, Groningen 2025-02-15 - Christone "Kingfish" Ingram @ Doornroosje, Nijmegen I'm also strongly considering going to DeWolff again on 2025-01-04 in Groningen. They were awesome this year. Edited November 14 by username 2 Quote

One of the first bands I ever really got into and I never saw them Me and my boys once played a battle of the bands in 2006 (it was a scam but that's not the point). It was 2006, so by that point, Sum 41 was old news in Canada. They peaked a few years earlier, and were firmly in the middle-school core territory. These scam battle of the bands would last until 2AM, as the promoters squeezed in as many slots as possible. At what must have been 1 AM, in between people politely standing around, bored and tired, the roof came off the club. Why? A band randomly cranked out a cover of Fat Lip. In that moment, everybody was 12 years old again (which was only 3 years earlier for some, but that's not the point). I've never seen the complexion of a room change that much so quickly. I don't remember anything about the band, but I'll never forget that. It's why I played Fat Lip at my wedding. Quote
Gracii Guns Posted November 19 Posted November 19 This year has been really good for concerts. I’m finally getting out again after a few years being stuck at home with the twins. 2025, my only firm plans are Bryan Adams in May, and a tribute festival in December. I’m hoping for a Bon Jovi tour and possibly the Rolling Stones too. Quote
Spoon87 Posted November 21 Posted November 21 So far, there's only Charlie Cunningham and a small festival in the summer on the horizon for me and the wife. I'm still hoping Pearl Jam will make up for the two cancelled concerts in Berlin, that I had tickets for and I'd probably go and see GNR if they happen to come around somewhere close-ish. I'm also hoping that Iron Maiden in Frankfurt, Germany isn't really already sold out, maybe they'll release more tickets eventually, as I missed the first round of sale. Other than that, I'll wait and see what comes Quote
rocknroll41 Posted November 22 Posted November 22 Just got my tickets for Linkin Park and Jack White, so now I have three shows next year: Jerry Cantrell (w/ Filter opening), Jack White, Linkin Park. 1 Quote
Spoon87 Posted November 27 Posted November 27 Social Distortion announced a European Tour so I am going to try and see them in early April. Quote

opalho Posted November 29 Posted November 29 Seeing the legendary NZ funk rock group Supergroove at the Auckland Town Hall next year. Should be really fun. I don't really know what to expect for concerts next year. A lot of bands who I would want to see are only touring Australia Quote
Spoon87 Posted December 2 Posted December 2 Just bought tickets for Zakk Sabbath. That's gonna kick some serious ass. Can't fucking wait. 2 Quote
ZoSoRose Posted December 2 Author Posted December 2 I'll put AC/DC on my maybe radar, but won't be disappointed if I don't go Quote
