LOVE this, there is 0 actual valid reasons to watch WWE in 2024 over AEW 🤮 but Oh, maybe I will try to give it another chance just to find out they are giving everything to Roman again for another 3/4s of a decade!

How about the fact it's an enjoyable watch compared to AEW being utterly tedious?

That's my valid reason for watching it anyway. I tend to watch things I enjoy, however valid or not that may be!

It's strange how people that like AEW seem to always say people that don't like it are being "worked" or "brainwashed" or something.

How about the fact people just don't like it for no other reason than they think it's a bit shit?

Different strokes for different folks. Any frustration I have at AEW or TK comes from the notion that he is dropping the ball. Realistically it's the last shot in our lifetimes of somebody running against WWE and to see the interest and viewing figures drop through the floor is sad to see. But there are loads of reasons for that(in my opinion). Too many high spots mean nothing is a high spot, too many false finishes take me out of it. I like MJF yet reap no joy from watching The Young Bucks floor routine.

It makes me sound old but if they just slowed it down a little in the undercard matches and saved some of the more hectic stuff for the main event they would benefit from it.

Lol the wwe mutants are just jealous that company doesn't do awesome stuff like this. Why would you be complaining that aew spent money on this? Why are you trashing a company because they used a great song for a hype video? Wwe mutant and cornette cult behavior.

The video is great and a great way to hype up the ppv and explain all the storylines going on at the moment.

That wasn't what I was getting at that people who don't like AEW or simply prefer a different style of wrestling are getting worked.

You can go to any Youtube video comments or thread about AEW and spot the Cornette fans repeating his talking points without any substance or understanding. My point was that Cornette's podcast has been wildly successful, and he is working the tribalists on both sides for notoriety.

The things people say about Ospreay, the Young Bucks, etc - those are things that are said about every generation of wrestlers. Pick a few "new" innovative top guys from 70s and 80s, and that was what was said about them. Anybody who says the Young Bucks or Ospreay don't have psychology doesn't watch their matches. Psychology changes and can be different for different crowds. This is coming from someone who prefers a completely different style over the Young Bucks and is generally not very interested in them.

For me, Bryan Danielson is the perfect wrestler. Contrary to the idea that he's a "technical" guy, Bryan Danielson was one of the best at this in terms of pacing, story, and making his matches feel cinematic. While his Iron Man match with MJF might not be his absolute best performance, it's the perfect example of this because Iron Man matches are notoriously hard for wrestlers to work because of how fans react to the fixed time limit and knowing that it's going 60 minutes and that near falls really don't matter because no Iron Man match has ever not been close right own to the wire. If you watch that match, it's his magnum opus in terms of taking everything that it took him 20+ years to figure out as a performer and using it to take people on a ride.

The whole Cornette thing is hilarious, because a lot of his arguments predicate on some sort of false idea of protecting the business, and he booked a promotion that featured such notable realistic acts as a 3000 year old mummy. I think he believes nuggets of what he is saying, and he probably has reason not to like certain guys, but he clearly leans into it and "turns it up to 11" because it has made him extremely relevant and successful for the first time in 15 years since he failed to book a captivating or successful promotion with ROH. With that said, Tony apparently did want him for guidance AEW, so he is at least strong about his convictions if that is true.

Ah yes the old 'because you dislike AEW you must be a shill for WWE' argument. lol

Why would anyone be 'jealous' of anything? It's a song being used in a promo video. That's it.

People are merely saying they think a TV show is a bit shit, and it's a bit sad that they're making such a big deal about an advert as their viewing figures fall off a cliff.

There's no agenda, no 'wwe mutants', no 'jealousy'.....just people saying they don't especially like something. Which really is very normal.

God knows why people get so defensive about this TV show, that less and less people are watching!

Personally I have no idea what people say in YouTube comments or why anyone would want to be 'tribal' about a TV show. I just want to watch a wrestling show I enjoy and WWE seems a good watch, AEW a shitty one. Other views will of course differ, but given how many viewers AEW is losing, it's quite likely my opinion is pretty common.

Yeah, you'd think one organization for hyper-muscular, tricot-wearing men clumsily groping and fondling each other while pretending to play out some cartoonish moral struggle would be enough for the Americans. But obviously they can't get enough of that ridiculous blend of soap opera theatrics and sweaty bear hugs, drunkenly cheering enthusiastically before driving home in their pick-up trucks to beat their wives and vote for Trump.

I haven't watched any actual wrestling since probably about 1990/91 with the old WWF but bizarrely I've become addicted recently to wresting videos and podcasts.

Not videos of the actual wrestling itself but I love listening to the old timers tell stories about all the behind the scenes shit that happened on the road. It's really fascinating.

Dark Side of the Ring is a great video series and I really like the Storytime with Dutch Mantell podcast too.  I'm honestly surprised any of these fuckers are still alive listening to some of the stories.

Wrestling fans arguing AEW vs. WWE on a GNR forum wasn't something I had on my bingo card but the more I think about it, we can kinda be cut from the same cloth.

Glad you registered here and dropped in to help out AEW.

It's been a valuable contribution.

There's just point in arguing with people like you. Its literally the same thing from all you anti aew people. you are saying aew is "shit"... no, you are wrong.  you are using viewership as an argument, so you always think the most popular thing is the best thing? No, you are wrong.

This thread was supposed to be about the  AEW November Rain music video, which most people would think is a positive thing and then you and other people immediately started trashing the company and it's owner for no reason. So yes there is clearly jealousy that wwe is too cheap or not creative enough to do something like this, agendas and wwe mutants posting in this thread.

Good to know we're all "wrong" for not liking something you do.

And thanks for letting us know they using an old song in an advert is so creative.

I'm not sure why you care so much, but it does come across as absolutely bizarre. Especially as you pop up out of nowhere and register in order to exclusively do so. Anyone would think AEW had sent up a distress flare or something!

Oh and yes, popularity does matter with a TV show. They're spending a fortune on it and the viewing figures are continuing to decline. At some point it becomes untenable and the plug gets pulled if it continues on that route. Which would be a shame, because unlike yourself, I appreciate that while I don't like it, others do, and people would lose jobs. It would be far better of they made something more people wanted to watch, but there we go. That's not on me, and no matter how much you tell people they're "wrong", they won't watch it if they don't like what they see.

Anyway, enjoy your show. I, and many others, don't.

They literally just signed a new multi year tv deal worth around 200 million a year...there is no plug getting pulled lol and they can easily afford licensed music. You can stop trying to spread your false information about viewership and the company folding.

And the only thing bizarre is you people trashing a company and it's owner for no reason on a guns n roses forum.

Yeah, discussing a show is far weirder than creating an account exclusively to tell people they're 'wrong' and 'jealous' for not liking a wrestling show. Totally normal behaviour.

If I cared enough I'd ask you what you hoped to achieve.....but I really don't.

Again, enjoy your show. Good night and goodbye!

I created this account 19 years ago so I'm not sure what you are talking about.

And you people weren't discussing a show you were insulting the company, talent and it's owner and tried to spread false information about them going out of business.
