themadcaplaughs Posted November 25 Posted November 25 The trend seems to be them being released in twos with one song sounding more like what people would expect from Guns N' Roses ("Hard Skool" and "Perhaps") and one sounding a little more "experimental" by GN'R standards ("Absurd" and "The General"). Like others often say however, knowing how this band operates, that could have just been a coincidence and we'll just get "Atlas Shrugged" and "Monsters". I have always felt, however, the decision to release "Absurd" as the first song was 100% a playful jab at the fan base. Quote
SoulMonster Posted November 25 Posted November 25 Just some additional info. For the 2021 tour -- which started on July 31 and ended on October 3 -- Absurd was released on August 6 (a few shows into the tour) and Hard Skool was released September 24 (towards the end of the tour). For the 2023 tour -- which started on June 1 and ended on November 5 -- Perhaps was released on August 18 (in the middle of the tour) and General on December 8 (after the tour). Not much rhyme or reason here, so I would be careful about anticipating a new single towards the start of the tour - if they even release more music next year. But who knows what will happen. 2 Quote
allwaystired Posted November 25 Posted November 25 Taking note of the tour name should probably be advised at this point! Quote

Slash and Duff don't seem to give a lot of fucks, I guess they recorded their parts years ago, handed them over, forgot about it and started working on their own stuff. Axl gave up completely and lets Team Brazil do their thing. Just speculation of course but thats how it feels to me. 3 Quote
Popular Post Blackstar Posted November 26 Popular Post Posted November 26 Based on recent history: 1) A "new" song (e.g. Monsters) appears on a leaked setlist and/or starts being rehearsed at soundcheck on the fist/second date of the 2025 tour. Fans get impatient and then, as time goes by without the song being played/released, they get skeptical or totally pessimistic ("they'll never play it", "plans changed", "remember when they rehearsed OMG but never played it", and so on). Eventually, the song is released mid-tour or towards the end following the obligatory fuckup. OR 2) No "new" songs on setlists or at soundcheck, which 90% will mean that there is no plan to release something during this tour. Unless they surprise us this time and do something different (e.g. a release before or at the beginning of the tour). But that's not very likely. 10 Quote
jacdaniel Posted November 26 Posted November 26 This is Guns N Roses. Last time they released songs they waited until their tour was practically over which makes no sense. I don’t see any link between tour dates and new songs for this band. If they want to release something, they will. If they’ve figured out how 1 Quote
Lelex95 Posted November 26 Author Posted November 26 After reconsidering, yes new dates don’t mean dew release necessarily and it’s gnr so it’s better to doubt. I still hope we get monster and atlas Quote
Sweersa Posted November 26 Posted November 26 A reworked Oh My God is possible too. If they re-record Bucket's solo (I doubt they will use Bumble's) I hope they have Fortis do it and also keep Bucket's wacky but amazing guitar during the chorus. 1 Quote

I'm referring to the bit that starts (and is rather high in the mix) and is throughout this bit: Oh, if it opens your eyes This is better than a strong compromise I was willing to be lost in the shuffle If only you had let me know Ooh, if it opens your eyes This is better than the last compromise I was willing to be lost in the shadows If only you had let me know It kicks back in later in the song, but is lower in the mix the second time around. Yeah, you can see Robin playing this part in this Vegas video: 4 1 1 Quote
Appetitefordiscussion Posted November 26 Posted November 26 New single? We’d be lucky to get a new hat on the merch store 1 Quote
DTV88 Posted November 26 Posted November 26 There will be no “new” songs released by the Guns brand in 2025 Quote

If you really study it, Paul is doing some really cool parts on this. As for singles, of course Atlas and Monsters are the obvious ones. The well is very likely almost empty. 1 Quote
Barlog Posted November 26 Posted November 26 If they ain't gonna release Monsters via jukebox, we riot. 1 Quote

That one with Robin is in a different part and it's not present on the 1999 release. Quote

Noooo but Axl's had a personality transplant one Christmas between those examples 😁 1 hour ago, allwaystired said: I think people may be forgetting the vast amount of tours that nothing got released.... But of course, we as a fan base have released more GNR than Guns have themselves....🙄 Edited November 27 by colonizedmind Quote
