Who is more responsible?

Dave's voice, or Eddie's guitar work?

Would this band have been as successful with a different singer other than Dave back in the early days - or more successful with the same band, but a different guitar player (with Dave singing)????

i cannot say. they are equal in my mind. in one minute, forty-two seconds, Ed changed the face of guitar playing. he also seemed to have his own breed of rock n roll. But Dave made that breed of rock take on a whole 'nother life. his flashy showmanship, his voice that was full of attitude... it all added up to greatness. I do not think Van Halen would have been as popular for a bit longer had Roth not been the singer. it still would have happened because of Ed's guitar work. but it might not have been as popular as it was. They are both the man B)

on the other hand, right now i hate VH's guts :devil:

i don't know if this is true, it may be a stretch, but i wouldn't necessarily doubt it. It's a well-known fact he is a HUGE drunkard.

in fact, on this last tour, after finishing dinner at a fancy restaurant somewhere, (he was drunk) he got out of his chair, walked towards the door, but stopped in front of a table where a couple enjoying a romantic dinner were sitting. he said to them, "Do you know who I am? I'm the Pope." then he proceeded to dip his fingers in the woman's water glass and bless each person, making the sign of the cross on their foreheads. "Peace be with you," he said as he left. He then fell over on his face before leaving, got back up, left, and passed out in the parking lot.

True story.

I noticed that as well . . . . though, I tend to judge a band by their music and not by the way they are dressed. They could all come out in makeup and dresses, but if their music is kicking ass still - it wouldn't bother me.
