axlslash
It's a toughie for me. I love Robert Johnson, BB King, Buddy Guy, John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters, Howlin Wolf, n all of em. Anyone who's read my posts in the american guitarist thread, though, knows who I'm gonna pick.
redapple
I don't listen to blues but I like Gary Moore's songs.

Every lick SRV plays is an Albert King lick sped up.Did you pick up the Guitar World Legends issue of SRV? It's awesome there's some interviews there I hadn't seen, and like 6 song transcriptions. I haven't seen that. I'll have to look for it. I'm trying to learn Pride & Joy right now, but it's much harder to learn on accoustic (what I have) than electric
moreblack
I hope you check out Albert King as well, I swear you won't regret it.Hey, what do you think of Kenny Wayne Shepperd? he nails the whole SRV soloing vibe, same licks and everything. Not very original, but he does the best ever impression of SRV I've ever seen.

axlslash
Clapton is G-d (greatest ever) and Kenny Wayne Shepperd also is a great player. I don't consider Clapton as much of blues as just great all around: folk, blues, and rock
