matt.limrick
"Why don't you just...F U C K OFF" - It's So EasySuperb. Just gets to the point."Don't ever leave me, Say you'll always be there, All I ever wanted was for you to know that I care" - Rocket QueenSimplicity is the name of the game. 8) 8) 8) 8)
eschman
Just like children hidin in a closet can't tell what's goin on outside... sometimes we're so far off the beaten path we get taken for a ride.I think UYI is so much better lyrically than AFD!!! AFD is more raw, but UYI is more ecclectic.
madison
There are so many great lines. That's what sets GNR apart from everyone else.My favorites -- in no particular order:"I bought me an illusionAnd I put it on the wallI let it fill my head with dreamsAnd I had to have them all .. " And ".. I worked too hard for my illusionsJust to throw them all away .. " ... Locomotive(Speaks volumes about turning dreams into reality). "When I find all of the reasonsMaybe I'll find another wayFind another dayWith all the changing seasons of my lifeMaybe I'll get it right next time .. " ... Estranged(Tells us to learn from our mistakes, pick ourselves up and go on). ".. And when your fears subsideAnd shadows still remainI know that you can love meWhen there's no one left to blameSo never mind the darknessWe still can find a way'Cause nothing lasts foreverEven cold November rain... " .. November Rain(Awesome words)"... I've been where I have been And I've seen what I have seenI put the pen to the paper'Cause it's all a part of me ....." .. Don't D*mn Me(For the writers out there )".. We take for granted we know the whole storyWe judge a book by its coverAnd read what we wantBetween selected lines.... .. Don't D*mn Me(Don't make rush judgments about people) ".. Sick of this lifeNot that you careI'm not the only oneWhom these feelings I shareNobody understandsQuite why we're hereWe're searching for answersThat never appear.. " .. Dead Horse".. Welcome to the jungleWe take it day by dayIf you want it you're gonna bleedBut it's the price you pay .. " .. Jungle(Sometimes it takes hard work and sacrifice to achieve goals). And of course -- Can't forget: ".. And I don't worry about nothing no'Cause worrying's a waste of my f*ckin' time." .. Mr. Brownstone. ;D

holydiver
i'll just write one that for me is the strongest ,though kind of "rough" the way it's told :"i see you standing thereyou think you're so coolwhy don't you justf*ck off !"now imagine the guy with the trendy clothes and shoes standing with a glass of vodka lemon in the club ,looking (on purpose) to the infinity and pretending to hardly move with the crap music it's playing at the moment. That guy is the guy who thinks he is cool and most time is accepted as "cool" by people. But he's only a pretender, he is a simple cool-wannabe because someone told him that doing all those things would make him cool. i hope you understand what i mean. this situation characterizes our societies big time : there's no honesty in the way of acting of most people, everything is fake and done on purpose. and that's what makes the line incredible : it says "f*ck off" to that situation, it's a most cruel line but also so real and so human crying out for a little honesty in a world of lies and pretending. and it is said by a bunch of still innocent kids who have not been corrupt yet by money or fame, which means it is not a line "created" in order to make a new album but a line felt in their soul and expressed in a desperate way. izzy-stradlin.com
Not quite GNR lyrics, they're Izzy's but they are my favourites "imagine you can run it all on your own,you talk about it but you got nuthin to show, year after year, you keep going nowhere"Hehe wonder who he is singing about...I was here before you, no matter what you do, you think about that first, yeh I was here before you!Wonder who is means here too.... ;D

Duffan
I drink an Drive everything's in sight I make the Fire but I miss the FireFight I hit the Bull'seye every night . I just love the way that Flows together and it's Reckless " do what I want " attitude . This is awesome too " That ol' man he's a real mutha F*cka , gonna kick him on down the line . That just personifies how tough addiction is and the way the lyrics bring it to life is cool . Peace GnR Nation 8)

Bono
A while back when I only used to post on the message board I posted the exact same question. It got loads of replies just like it has here. I've never been able to come up with one specific lyric or line that I think is the best but I do think that Axl wrote the truest lyric of all time as simple as it is. "Loves' so strange" from Locomotive, over and over again. What else has ever held more truth to it? My favorite lyric of all time for me is " Why does it come as a surprise, to think that I was so naive. Maybe didn't mean that much but it ment everything to me" form Nine Inch Nails' song That's What I Get. I guess not so much by the lyrical genius but just by the way it is sung. Also it's applied to me more than once.
