I'd rather they weren't making music to be honest... And if "making music" is the criteria for being a good band then Girls Alour are better than The Beatles, at least Girls Aloud are making music! Guest Conga Fissure Posted February 22, 2005 Posted February 22, 2005 (edited) I appreciate musical diversity. But even I must agree with bland riff rockers. The music is arid and smells of sweaty flesh hands from grease-tailed record label exec. (generic fabrication)FUN ROCK! But I feel empathetic. The equivalent of excellent funk rock n roll Jane's Addiction breaking up AGAIN. Here's a melodrama fudge sickle made from the finest creme tears of wrist cut rockers:Give me a whisperAnd give me a signGive me a kiss before youtell me goodbyeDon't you take it so hard nowAnd please don't take it so badI'll still be thinkin' of youAnd the times we had...baby Edited February 22, 2005 by Techno Lightning Quote

And if "making music" is the criteria for being a good band then Girls Alour are better than The Beatles, at least Girls Aloud are making music! Another moronic comment...by we, i meant so soild snakewhen i said the comment about making music, i meant that, you people criticize blink because they make "bad" music, i was comparing them to guns n roses, who you think are soooo great, but when did they make their last album of ORIGINAL material? blink are doing what axl cant, actually making music... guns n roses are a thing of the past. bands like greenday and linkin park are more famous at the moment.. when axl, if axl decides to get of his ass and please his fans, and release cd, gnr still wont sell as many as they did back in the early 90's. Blink are actually pleasing their fans releasing music. Blink are about 28 i imagine and have release 7 or so albums of ORIGINAL material. axl is 40 or so and he has released 2 albums of original material... that tells that axl is bone idol, and only cares about himself, whereas blink make music for the fans.. Hampi Posted February 22, 2005 Posted February 22, 2005 So by your logic if a band released a hundred albums that were crap they would be better than GNR with their timeless albums. Quote
matt_barker Posted February 22, 2005 Posted February 22, 2005 no, all im saying is that blink actually care about their fans Quote
Guest Conga Fissure Posted February 22, 2005 Posted February 22, 2005 Night Train (excellent rock song for alcohol's prideful shoulder) has a POINT!For instance Motley Crue could release 18 records and would never equal the creativity or ambition of 2 Guns N' Roses albums. Even a substandard KMFDM CD. 5 apes bang on trashcans and release an album- that certainly doesn't enable them to suprass Axl's (and Slash's) "Coma"?But you neo-punk rockers are probably enjoying music, THAT'S GOOD.If you enjoy it, play CDs if it gives you inspiration and creates an enjoyable sonic atmosphere.I like techno, some people hate techno.I hate unimagintive riff rock, some people like unimaginative riff rock.Whatever gives you bliss and doesn't delusion you into warm refuge under Jesus' robe like U2. Blink are about 28 i imagine and have release 7 or so albums of ORIGINAL material. axl is 40 or so and he has released 2 albums of original material... that tells that axl is bone idol, and only cares about himself, whereas blink make music for the fans.. Joy Division were only around for 3 years and only released about 30 songs ever but are responsible for influencing just about every band that came after them.Velvet Underground are seen as one of the most influential bands of the 1960s yet a lot there albums failed to make the Top 100 when they were originally released.SCOM charted very poorly when it was released originally.Quality isn't judged on commercial success, it's judged on the quality of the music. Will "All the Small Things" be remembered as a classic in 10,20, 50 years time? No. Will Blink 182 leave any imprint on music history and inspire numerous bands when they do eventually stop making music? No.Blink 182 make nothing more than what can only be described as lollipop punk with lyrics that are littered with childish references about boners. You're argument that they are good because they have a lot of material is moronic. I'd rather have 7 minutes of November Rain then 7 albums from Blink 182. When they do call it a day they will be forgotten, and the sooner the music industry swaps commercialism for quality the better.Blink 182 are the antithesis of what is wrong with the music industry at the moment. If you want to listen to punk there a plenty of genuinely good bands, Blink 182 aren't one of them. Quote
jinty Posted February 22, 2005 Posted February 22, 2005 i dnt' realy think that blink are anything special, i dont think that it's a great loss to music Quote
Gigger Posted February 22, 2005 Posted February 22, 2005 no, all im saying is that blink actually care about their fans Whooppeee.... They care about there fans....They still make awful music.
