jimgnr
Led Zeppelin is back! Robert Plant just hired a band of pop and techno stars to play with him. Plant will tour soon with the band, and says Jimmy Page is a sell out hack. Seven lead guitarists will take Page's place. One is such a bad dude he donesn't like women (really) and is wearing a Taco Bell Burritto wrapper on his head because he is so scared. Led Zeppelin will be playing albums 1 through 4 and say they may try to write new music, don't hold your breath it will likely suck. Sound familar? jimgnr
what a minute buddy, I love GNR and the music, i just don't like Axl's cover band calling themselves GNR and touring. And having a bunch of kidds run around and say who is Slash and Izzy, and at the same time go on and on about DIzzy and Bucket Head as being some rock legends. That is what I am saying. mikepjohnson
I see what you're saying Jim. I was the biggest fan 14 years ago but hate the fact that times have changed. I still want to hear what Axl has to sing but times change
jimgnr
believe me I hate passing up this show tomorrow, i love hearing gnr in bars and such, but I cannot support it. If you support this there is not chance of a reunion. I no it is slim to none, but hey.

Ghost_Guns
goddamn this arguement is like fuckin 2 years ago. some fuck like jim gnr has to come by and be hateful. Suck it dude. Pop band? wtf. Chinese Democracy is totally not a pop song. woo whatever...be ignorant and fuckin in the dark.G-Face
holydiver
what if it's 2 years ago? it's still true and arguments don't have an expire day... also many of the new members are studio musicians and usually the studio musicians do commercials, work for pop bands etc.. (ie fortus). so that's also partly true. and the blues is quite a pop song ...

greg
dude, it was a "pop" song that broke GNR and Slash has said that many times concerning SCOM. Jimgnr, dude axl bought the name from the members so technically he has every right to use it any way, shape, or form he wishes to do so....the guy can make a porn film and call it Guns N'Roses if he wants to. And suppose he didn't own the name, this would still be GNR, its not like he said "fuck it dude, I'm starting a new band." Members basically left one by one and were replaced in that fashion, so really, if you think about it a Guns N' Roses has always existed, even during the years after the UYI tour. Ghost_Guns
man we could start the this isn't gnr arguement ever since izzy left. Seeing how he was the back bone and all :. Sympathy for the Devil wasn't performed by GNR either! Damn them.G-Face
gnrlies
well look...I mean you can prefer the old band, but i mean why deny yourself the right to hear axl again???I mean we cant change anything..Axl is going to do what he wants, and we cant change that.... gnrlies
I am still pro old gnr, and i am totally dissapointed with what has happened to this band...BUTI aknowledge that the band as musicians is awesome (from reviews etc) and its better than nothing!I mean i would easily prefer the old band, but i mean thats not going to happen..... We all have to move on.. I mean if you dont like the badn then thats fine, but at least dont like it for the right reasons, and not just becuase its not slash izzy and co. jimgnr
I think I made my point with this post, spelling it out clearly with another example. Axl has a new band playing GNR covers, congrats to him. But if anyone seriously thinks GNR still exists you are dilusional. Yes Axl bought the name and he has every right to use it, but just understand you are not seeing GNR when you go to this sham tour and buy the new album IF it ever comes out. From 1987-1989 GNR basically wrote ALL of AFD, LIES and UYI I&II, why is it taking Axl so long to write a new album, hum like 8 years. I will tell you why, he isn't GNR. Period. Guest
It's not writing it that's taken this long. Didn't you read the Rolling Stone article from 2000? I suggest you look into it. Oh, and maybe that Kurt Loder interview from a few years back too.
jimgnr
If the album was so good it would be out already period. Who reads about GNR in 2000, when the band no longer exists. I am tired of you morons. Axl may own the name, but it is not GNR, it is a new band. The new album will not be ground greaking like AFD and will likely be a pop hit like much of todays watered down rock, groups that have one hit then fade away.No one has yet to challenge my claim, the topic of this string, if Plant started touring and playing all old Zeppelin songs he would not call himself Led Zeppelin and if anyone in the general public did they would be laughed at period. Think about for a minute. Axl is not the entire group, he is 20% of it, it is so crazy.
Ghost_Guns
It is GNR and it is to many people. And the cd is going to rock!G-Face
jimgnr
OK then call Plant up and tell him to tour as Zeppelin, if people are stupid enough to buy that he mind as well make a killing!! You are silly.

jimgnr
how so is it different?
Ghost_Guns
It is, because alot of people think Axl is what made GNR. Alot of people think it was slash. And some people think it was Slash and Axl and the rest of the band. When people think of Zep they think of Page and Plant. Not many people think Plant made the band, and alot of people don't think it was just Page. It is entirely different. If GNR died in 1991..then what is Sympathy for the Devil..no one had any arguements there. Also, with your arguement you can basically rule out any line up changes that have ever happened in the rock business. When Jimmy Crispo filled in for Joe Perry, it was still Aerosmith. When Brian Johnson filled in for Bon Scott it was still ACDC. And since something has never been done before..which is replace a whole band, in a sense it is the same. Just more members. And this new gnr is going to prove everybody wrong indeed.G-Face
jimgnr
when you think GNR you think slash and axl....and frankly Izzy. Same as Zeppelin. As for changes, I have no problem with minor ones, hey people don't always get along, but 80% of the group is just too much.
