Bon Jovi

Bon jovi has sold tens of millions of albums, become a movie star and is know world wide. He adapted his sound from the 80's albums like Slippery When Wet and New Jersey to keep with the times ( In my opinion These Days is a great album) and he was still going strong just after the millenium and his big tunes will go down in history.

Do you think its time he gets the credit he deserves from critics and publications like Rolling Stone for his song writing abilities and his charisma? Yes he is chessy and sticks to the same formula but you can't argue with his success, can you?

I love Bon Jovis music, Runaway is a great song,i can kinda relate to it.

i really really like this music, and i give a shit about this people who say it's girl's rock or whatever, i can't stand these people who think they're hard when they say things like that.

I like some songs.

But i can't stand the fact that all the music that they do is totally comercial , i mean they have the pure intention of selling as much they can, i know that is normal, but they should worry about make good music and that showed what they are.

In this way the remind me a pop star

They are always adapting to what the public wants.

In my opinion sometimes Bon Jovi don't seem to have a personality.

Well since im a little little girl I'm a fan of Bon Jovi. I was born during the New Jersey era, so I went through Keep The Faith, These Days and then I saw Crush, Bounce and This Left Feels Right. And I must admit I was very very very disappointed by those three last albums. Bon Jovi (the album ), 7800 farhenheit, SWW, NJ, KTF and TD were awesome albums in my opinion, 80's rock n roll with some 90's good rock aswell and then what happened??? pop/rock, cheesy ballads, mid-tempo's *rockers* and stuff like that. So for those who said they make commercial music and all, yes i agree with yo uabout the last 3 records they released. but during the 80's and 90's I think they were truly great. and Its a shame that they dont make songs that shows their incredible talent, such as the cool Dry County, off of KTF. Now all we get is You had me from hello, Bounce and some remake of their famous songs. Yes they should definitively get some recognition for their older work, such as Wanted Dead Or Alive and all those great songs, they should really get some recognition for this, because that was rock, that was fun, that was them, tha twas what they wanted to do. Anyway. that was a long post I know but I just feel as letting this all out because it really pisses me off that people consider them as girly rock and cheesy and stuff just because they only know Its My Life, All about loving you and those things. if you dig in their past, you would see great talent and awesome songwriting.

another thing i forgot to mention, I think they should get recognition as a band, and not only Jon getting all the credits. alot of poeple know Bon Jovi for Jon and think he's the only man in there. but Sambo, Bryan ,Torres and MacDonald are great musicians too and deserve some merit!!!

Liked them a lot more in my teens than I do now - KTF and These Days are pretty damn good albums, as was 'Crossroads' (Greatest Hits) when it came out (1992/93 I think). Their later albums did nothing for me though. Songs like All About Loving You and Thanks You For Loving me are a dose of very strong stilton. However I saw them live last year or the year before in Glasgow and they were amazing live. JBJ puts so so much into their two and a half hour shows, not bad at all for a guy in his forties.....

Yeah like alot of you said, Keep The Faith and These Days are really their best albums. Keep The Faith is musically the best, and These Days lyrically the best in my opinion. and yeah, later crap like all of bounce and crush is really at the top of the shit and way too cheesy for me too. but live they are still an amazing band and their old songs are still incredibly good!
